matters on your face really. Would it suit long hair or not? If you have a long face then go for longer hair so that it proportions it and then if you have a smaller face then go for a shoulder length cut.
Layering is also important and very fashionable at the moment, so you could go for longer hair with shoulder length layers in order to bring depth and definition to your hair. That way it will look like your real hair.

I prefer shoulder length hair as it has more movement. With hair extensions it really depends on the quality of the hair used. But, before you have extensions done think of the damage done to your own hair and that done to the donor.

Don't get hair extensions - my friend has just had them put in - very expensive and look absolutely awful. When she puts her hair up you can see where they have been glued on! Just look at the mess some celebrities hair gets in with extensions! My advice would be to spend your money on a really good hairdresser who can give you a top cut and a good colour. Good hair is all about the cut

Long hair can look fabulous with layers... so maybe long hair with shoulder length layers... just for a bit of a hair update

I've got long hair but wouldn't mind experimenting with shoulder length. Both look fabulous, in my opinion.

Has a lot to do with how you like to wear it. Long hair is more versatile, but also takes more care, since the ends tend to break, and split easier.

Depends whether:
You are male or female (lol),
What colour your hair is,
How old you are,
Whether your hair is curly or straight.
I prefer long hair to be dark or blonde and straight.
Curly hair shouldn't be too long, it looks too messy.

I have long hair. About a inch below my collar. I look at it like this, it's your hair. If your pleased, there you go.

my hair was up2 ma bum n den i cut it in the middle. personally i find that, longer than shoulder length hair is nice.

it depends on what type of face shape i hav . i hav an oval face so i prefer shoulder length hair. it mainly based on what looks gud on me.
