There is a clinic near my home that does perform abortions. i do not have a car, and this is the only place in walking distance so i walked there so i can get some testing done since i am pregnant and want my baby to be ok...

well, as i walked closer there were pickiters and people yelling, i smiled and walked by and someone threw a rock at me!!! she then approached me and shoved me. I screamed at her "how can you hit a pregnant women!?" and she told me i'm "sickening". i ended up calling the police and the women was taken to i guess either the jail or holding station (im pressing charges!) these were all extreme christians...hard core christians

now to you christians, why do you think a lot of these people preach love and all this crap, then go and bomb abortion clinics, harming innocent people...and also attack people going into clinics. why do they think this is ok? but then preach to love thy neighbor and thou shalt not kill???

That is unbelievable! Some people need to be taken out back and beaten. Be careful out there.

These are not the ones who I would call the true christians, and I apologize for what you had to go thru today an the behalf of the one's of us who are actually decent people. They may preach (witness as they call it), go church every Sunday, yada, yada, yada, but they are also the ones who fail to see how their actions represent not only themselves but others, and also how those actions affect other people besides themselves. They are so self convinced that what ever they do is right and that God will forgive them, that they believe they can do whatever they want to someone who does not appear to share their same faith or beliefs. I get ragged on by that type all the time myself.
One word to sum it up hypocrits.
File the charges, I would, and I hope you and the baby are okay. I'm pregnant myself so I have a very biased opinion about ANY stranger pushing me around right now, much less someone else. All this does is make her look like a big *** fool, and a stupid idiot.

I am what you could call a zealous Evangelical Christian. The fact of the matter is, it is wrong. I would not go so far to say that they are not Christians that judgment is not for me or others to make we all will stand before God on judgment day. I can safely say that the behavior you described is certainly not Christ like or Christian. The principal of an unborn child being a viable life form is pretty well documented in the bible and most all Christians agree on the abortion issue. The way to handle or respond to a society or nation that legalizes abortion is where they are wrong.

I ask myself the same question frequently! By all means I will say that I have met quite a few wonderful christian people, however, some of the most maddening behavior I have ever witnessed has been displayed by " Christians". Then I have met atheists who just try to do what they feel is morally right for the benefit of only themselves, not because they fear any greater form of being! I'm sorry this happened to you and I am glad to hear you are pressing charges! Hope the B**** rots! You should have told her to GO TO HELL!

the clinic in my area was fire bombed 18 times and the doctor is really cool about it, he built a multi-million dollar compound that has 360 cameras and a secret entrance and is bomb proof. he drives an armored plated car and wears a bullet proof vest. the new clinic hasn't been bombed once.

now think about the kind of people who force this man to take the precautions and then feel sorry for the kids they didn't abort.

I have just as bad a story here in Mississippi. A retired couple were driving through Jackson, the husband was suffering chest pains and in a panic, the wife saw "Clinic" and pulled in. The 75 year old MAN was nearly beaten to death as he tried to crawl inside, police saved him.

Before that incident, they were a "pro life" couple. When they got home to Memphis, they joined Planned Parenthood. Happy ending- he lived after being rushed to the cardiac unit.

Caring Christians, preventing a MAN from having an abortion? Yep!

And I see DesiDani has a usual cop out of an answer.

Whoa! Those people were NOT, I repeat NOT Christians. They were crazy people useing Christianity as an excuse to do evil. It is wrong however in the Christian religion to have, or give an abortion. It is considered to be the killing of a life that is not your own. Even God tells us as adults that we were bought out of hell with a price. That price was the blood of Jesus when he died on the cross. I'm sorry that those freaks done that to you, I promise they were NOT true Christians.

What is particularly galling about such behavior is that there is not one word in the bible about abortion, but there are plenty of words about tearing up women with child and dashing the heads of babies against stones.

They should try reading their own book sometime, instead of listening to the pope.

This is why Christians are accused of being hyprocrites. They preach that we should all do as the bible instructs, yet seem to give themselves permission to be excluded from these same laws.
Didn't Jesus tell people not to judge others? Love thy neighbour etc. Doesn't sound like these people even know what their own bible means!

I'm very sorry for your negative experience. I, too, have gone to such clinics for perfectly ordinary ob/gyn appointments. It is absolutely abhorrent that anyone should try to tell anyone what to do with their own bodies, or to commit a violent act in the guise of keeping you from hurting what they claim is an innocent person (okay, not going to go there). The fact is, they have no right whatsoever to bar you from going to have your exam, and they have even less right to commit an act of violence against you...casting the first stone...Like that one.

A little levity:

Some comedienne (back in the day when it was PC to use that term) I think it was Elaine Boozler, had a routine, where something very similar happened to her. Her response was: I was only going in for a routine pap smear. Now I'm going to have an abortion, just to piss them off! And I'm not even pregnant!

(you just reminded me of that....brought a smile to me...hope you smiled too...kinda scary, though, aren't they?)

It's wrong to bomb abortion clinics. And it's wrong the way you were treated. I'm a Fundie, and if I had witnessed this, I would have placed myself between you and the protesters and protected you all the way in to the clinic (even if you had been on your way for an abortion).
If I witness someone trying to kill an "already born" human being, I'm allowed by law to shoot them. If I witness someone on their way to kill a "not yet born" human being, the law only allows me to try to talk them out of it.
