I know a semi truck driver who is on injectable insulin, and still driving, which is against DOT regulations. Is there a way to turn him in without revealing my identity? I'm afraid he's going to hurt or kill someone. Please don't say "call DOT". I want someone to answer who knows what they are talking about.

I am a licensed CDL driver. I see that you don't want anyone to say call the DOT. Well actually my friend is what you need to do, it is your civil duty to contact the appropriate agency in your state regarding this matter. Let them know that you suspect he is insulin dependent. You have to be careful what you say, that is why I say that you "suspect" unless you have valid proof. Contacting the employer anonymously can be done, but is not the proper authority, because the employer has to keep current driver qualification files on hand for each driver they employ, and it is a possibility that they know but they may be just keeping it quiet, which I seriously doubt being that it would open the company to a huge lawsuit if anything were to happen. It could be a case that he does not tell the doctor, he could have lied on the medical examiner's form, If they actually do not know and it isn't marked on his physical exam and they find out otherwise, they would have to present proof of his actions before confronting him. If they find out that he did actually lie on his form, he will be fired for lying on a federal form, and they will be required by law to notify the DOT. What the DOT will do is investigate this matter and also the doctor if did actually renew his examiner's certificate under false pretenses. If all is found to be true, that driver will have his CDL revoked and the doctor may face felony fraud charges.

find real evidence of his medical condition and go to a mail n more store with a fax machine and anonymously send his Employer a fax..... if you don't do something and he kills himself and a car full of kidz you will never forgive yourself...I take it that you don't want a personal confrontation or you would have just told him get off the road or i will turn you in.. If you know the Doc that does his CDL license put a bug in his ear because he is guilty of fraud if he keeps sending him out with a clean bill of health.....PLZ get him off the road....
