God wants us to praise him because he deserves it. It's like saying thank you for all the things he has given us!
If you are really thankful, you become a HAPPY MOO COW!!! like me!

I've thought about it...if he's perfect why would he be jealous? After reading part of the old testament...it's very scary the things he did all the killing like the egyptian children, or taking things off on people for generations. I think ....why would the second, third and fourth generations still have to pay for the first generations sins? I dunno...but a lot of those stories are quite scary. Or why would he favor certain people over others? Because that's what it appears to me on the old testament.

Praising the Almighty is a form of worship intended to be therapeutic to believers. Praise asserts personal beliefs in God, and establishes the importance of His presence in the lives of men. Women, too. It's a kind of ongoing profession of faith.
God doesn't 'need' praise to confirm His majesty. WE need to praise God for OUR sakes, but our love must surely please the Father, just like that of children everywhere.
I hope you realize, God is not flawed. Humanity has the need. God has fulfillment.

Why would all there is be jealous of...all there is? Many parts of the Holy Bible are nonsensical. And, God does not require anything from you. Those edited parts are the result of ego-maniacs.
Keep using your wonderful brain to get at the truth.

Way back when Pharaohs ruled and they were sons of god people prayed to them so it was like an ego thing. But when they built temples and churches it was about getting you in and getting your money.
How do nuns and monks make a living out of this praying biz?
A friend of mine said she saw Buddhist monks eating at McDonald's. Who have they been praying to? Did their god say it's ok to eat meat now too?

It becomes clearer as understanding becomes clearer.
"fascinating" he says with one eye brow raised.

The God from the bible admits to being a jealous God. So perhaps it is a reassurance.

its a good question. it doent make much sense does it....
unless...we have interpreted who god is and what it means to praise "him". maybe to praise god is really to conciously be aware of, and contribute to, the good energy in our "oneness".
