What you may think is something learned maybe only something you have been exposed to and have an idea of what it is. In reality, you have not learned this, as there are processes where we learn how to put things into long term memory. When I entered college at 36, I had to learn how to study and how to really put it into long term storage. For me, just to read something doesn't mean I learn it. All of this varies between people. Some can read and be able to recall even weeks later while others may not recall much at all. We learn at different paces and we retain things differently. You didn't indicate your age but I assume you are a student. I suggest you discuss this issue with a trusted teacher or counselor. The schools have special classes on how to study and retain. Good luck.

If you wanna remember you can and will. It's more a matter of drive. If you want to remember but can't find little ways to make the info interesting to you. If you like music equate the topic with music. Overall I think most people only retain the information they find interesting.
