I believe that you might have a condition called Hidradenitis Supprativa. It is a condition of re-occurring boils/ cysts/abscesses , that are often misdiagnosed as ingrown hairs, herpes, being unclean and folliculitis. This is a newly diagnosed skin condition , but there is a lot of info out there.
Here is a link :

If this sounds like it might be you, READ it, PRINT it out, and TAKE it to your DOC.
Its better to try to start treatment soon, it can spread over the body if left untreated.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO POP THEM!!
These boils can become quite large and painful. Sometimes even lasting for weeks or months and can spread all over the body. Most common areas are armpits, groin, binkni line, inner legs, and intimate places and basically anywhere that sweats and rub against clothing. Stress is a big inducer.

There is some support groups at MSN , and yahoo, and I am open for questions!
I have had this for 8 years, I was misdiagnosed for a LONG time, It was very embarrassing, painful and scary. I am just trying to help out so you don’t have to wait as long as I did.

Sounds like a skin disorder which will require the attention of a dermatologist. Meanwhile try using just Dial soap until you make time to go. There are other soaps out in the market that help control these out breaks consult with your pharmacist which can be very helpful with this selection. Try not to worry this sounds very common place and is easily controlled.

I have the same problem on my arms, as well as my hips. To treat it, I exfoliate (gently) in the shower and get out and apply a good mineral oil containing lotion (I like Keri), as well as one with lactic acid (the OTC version of Lac Hydrin) and when they flare up and are really red, I apply hydrocortisone cream to them.

My dermatologist said it was just dry skin cells clogging up the hair follicles rather than sloughing off like normal. He suggested an oil-based salt scrub in the shower. That worked for me, but made my bath tub a slipping hazard lol. Another thing that worked really well was to apply a layer of baby oil to my skin before I toweled off after a shower. That cut down on the need for so much lotion.

Did you ever shave your arms? Reason I ask that is because it can be ingrown hairs. I suggest you use a good lather and scrub brush to help rid the skin of the top layer of dead skins cells and give your skin a chance to breathe and renew itself. Stop picking in or it can turn into Prurigo Nodularis and that takes literally years and years to get rid of.....and don't forget to keep the skin moistened after you lather, scrub and rinse, apply dermatology recommended moisturizer to keep the skin supple. Good luck!

It could be dry skin. Stop popping them first of all. After you get out of the shower, get a wet towel and rub them, after you do that for a while, put lotion on. It is mostly caused by sensitive skin. Start using DOVE soap.

It could be pseriocis which is a skin disorder when you don't get enough of Vitamin D aka Sun but not too much. But i know my cousin has pseriocis on her skin and she can't get rid of it. But go to a doctor, any doctor and they will do a check up on you and tell you.

When you take a shower, scrub them really well with some acne wash. Then when you get out of the shower, use some really good cocoa butter lotion because you skin is ultra dry.

Cheers
