Sounds like you were given nothing but a verbal warning. If you had received a citation for the offense you would have been given some type of paperwork during the stop (the infamous "ticket"). Don't expect anything in the mail. The only time that happens is if a prosecutor ruling is necessary or more info is needed to confirm a violation (confirmation from the Bureau of motor vehicles that a person was actually suspended, etc...) Chances are you received a courtesy "Your lights are not on" warning...John

No, your not going to get a ticket. Officers usually stop cars in that situation so they check your license for validity and to see if you have any warrants (it is also unsafe). It is just another tool officers have to get bad people of the street. If you had been ticketed, then your insurance would not have gone up. The violation has to be a moving violation in order for you insurance to go up. An example would be speeding or running a red light. Yes police officers can mail tickets out at a later date, but they usually dont do that unless their has been an accident and they didnt have the time to write them at the scene.

Just because you received no ticket last night, you should not assume that the badge bearer couldn't decide to issue you one later on at some point before the expiration of the statue of limitations.
Some badge-bearers are like that.
There IS still a chance that your insurance will go up, because if he took your proof of insurance and ran it, your insurance company will get a flag saying that you were pulled over, even if it doesn't say for what, and even if they recieve no copy of any ticket, they CAN claim that your'e having way too much interaction with the constabulary to be automatically considered a safe driver.
If that was the only time you've been pulled over in years, however, I wouldn't really worry about that, though.

The newer models have bright running lights which come on automatically, so it's easy to forget, but many of them DON'T turn on the back lights. Consequently, you're a hazard after dark. You got a warning, profit from it. The officer checked you for "wants and warrants," but your insurance company will never hear about the incident unless you tell them. It's not usual to receive a ticket in the mail, but it can happen. I hope you turn your lights on next time, or that you don't leave well-lit streets if you forget.

The officer just gave you a warning. You will not receive a ticket in the mail. Don't worry about it. Be thankful that the officer told you to turn on your headlights. Don't forget next time, OK?

No you won't get a ticket. Warning if you wanna call it that. People driving without lights on is a warning flag that that person might be drinking and driving. Thats probably why you were pulled over. To check and see if you were drinking. I've been pulled over for the same thing before and also was let go without a ticket.

If you got pulled over w/no ticket, then the officer gave you a warning, most likely for the safety of you and others. They gave to give you a copy of any citation given, that you have to sign agree to appear in court that day. If you didn't receive that you are safe. If you do get a ticket, depending on the state most places let you take a defensive driving class to dismiss the ticket. You should take one anyway for the purpose of lowering your insurance priemium.

If the cop didn't write youa ticket right there, and you still have your license, I highly doubt you will recieve one in the mail. Honest mistake right? Not all cops are aholes.
And your insurance shouldn't go up over something like that.l Generally insurance only goes up for things that the insurance has to pay for [accidents, theft etc]

Looks like another one slipped through the drag net.
Man switch to decaf. Your in the clear. If the officer didn't give you a ticket at the scene then I really doubt he is going to pay for a stamp to mail that petty of a charge to you.

LOL!!! you are worrying over nothing. You just forgot. He pulled you over more than likely to remind you of your headlights being off and they needing to be turned on. That's all.
Btw, your story is just like mine when i got pulled over for going over the white strip before you head into the intersection, which is illegal to do, and CAN get a ticket where i am (Texas). & the cop pulled me over, reminded me that i was over and i appologized and said i wouldnt do it again. & he warned me, said if he caught me doing it again, then he would write me one. That's just like your story. You just basically get a slap on the wrist and they let you go with a warning.
No worries. No insurance going up, unless you haven't paid for tickets you got, or the cops are after you or a warrant for your arrest. Then if there is nothing like that, you are free to go like i said with a slap on the wrist and a warning.
