Well why don't atheists do something about it, instead of whining about it?
I am sure that a theist can give you some pointers on how to the government works. You know like talking or writing to your congressman, petitions, public forums, stuff like that.
Unless you like to whine. If so, by all means whine away.

I am repeating this statement made from an atheist.
Eating babies? Okay, where did that come from?
No I don't think it is right, but what is even more wrong is to complain about it and not do anything about it. If some atheists groups are, well good for them.

Doesn't answer my question. So how are atheists actively fighting these laws? Do they like to play the victim?

Yousedum, wrong Charlie. I don't have to think about my beliefs 24/7, it is like my toe always there. When I walk I use more than just my toe to get me forward.

I hate it when people make outlandish statements without facts to support them.

These laws are all unconstitutional. And the courts will declare them so as soon as a case reaches them. United States Constitution, Article VI, Clause 3 The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but NO RELIGIOUS TEST SHALL EVER BE REQUIRED as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

'to hold a job in office'?
What exactly do you mean by that?
Do you mean an elected office? Because if that is what you mean you are absolutely wrong. There are no tests of religion as a requirement to hold a public office in any state in the US. That would be unconstitutional and would be thrown out of any court.

I'm a Dutch atheist, and I whine about it, yes.
US politics influences the entire planet. But I have nothing to say about it. Yet, in 7 US states an atheist is not allowed to hold a job in office. And it disgusts me.
And I will keep whining about it.

What states? Show me a reputable source that says a politician has to declare their religion in any state position.
EDIT: wikipedia is a public forum (much like this one). It is NOT a reputable source (much like this site). As has been said, such laws would be unconstitutional and, IF they were on the books, would be overturned in a heartbeat.

You're the one whining.
Yes, there are a few Bible Belt states with those laws on the books but nobody worries about them. They're unenforceable and unconstitutional. Any state AG would cave immediately.

I'm afraid that some theists' idea of helping atheists out with that would be to convert them.
