It should go down as the most dumb joke of the year.Exercise in any form is good for health including running and jogging and it also keeps our knees healthy ,strong and flexible.I have been in to it for past 51 years and am many times fitter and stronger than even my younger friends, including two who had knee joint replacement(thanks to their dislike for walking, leave aside running).By the way,are you looking for an excuse to avoid running/jogging?If so,just relax and start with a short brisk walks. All the best.

The most strongest reason for knees pain in the future is running on roads and sidewalks, the other reason is the shoes, you have to get a good running shoes. Other than that, I don't think so unless you got injured somehow by hitting something, but please, stop running and take a rest when you feel a pin, don't push yourself harder.
Running is one of the best sport you can ever do, so run on soft ground, on grace, in the forest, and AVOID hard ground

Ideally, you would run on dirt & wooded trails wearing brand new running shoes that you replace every 500 miles.
Unfortunately, most folks run on hard surfaces like streets.
Some folks can run for years with no pain and others have to take up biking, walking, or swimming to get heart rates up.
