If everyone had to live a day in the life of an illegal, they would have a better understanding. It is hard to get a visa in Mexico and people don't understand how long it could take just to be considered for a visa!!!
Some people have hate towards illegal immigrants(large % Mexican or coming through Mexico border)because the "take their jobs" and "get all these free handouts from the government" which is just not true!!! In Georgia, you can not get assistance(health care, medicaid, etc.) from the goverment without proof of residency/citizenship or legal alien card!
Not all illegas are Hispanic...not all Hispanics are Mexicans....not all Mexicans are illegal!!!
Take care(cuidate)!!! Best wishes to all....

BTW: Illegals are no more a drain than Americans themselves on goverment funds!!! Most illegals pay ss and other taxes to never beneift from it or get any back!!!

I feel that most Mexicans who have come to the US have had a positive contribution to our society - mainly through working manual labor jobs that many Americans don't want. I have several employees who are second generation migrants (I don't know the status of their parents). Most of them are very hard workers and many are good students.

While I think Mexicans should take the legal route to entering the US, I think much of the cause of illegal immigration is due to the bureaucratic red tape when it comes to getting visas. I believe our government needs to implement a guest work program that allows the needed workers to come here to work without all the red tape.

I have very mixed feelings on how to deal with the illegals that are already hear. While I don't really support an amnesty plan, I think the best idea is to have them pay a fine - say $5000 - and then they can get in line for permanent resident status. Upon paying the fine, they would be granted temporary status while their application was processes.

Despite what some people might claim, the illegals are not a significant drain on our public health care system - definitely not any more than the millions of American citizens who have no health insurance. And while I don't necessarily support bi-lingual education in schools, I'm also aware that many of the children who are in school are US citizens.

Immigration is not just about Mexicans. I have no problem with legal immigration from any country. Illegal immigration is wrong and its illegal. "They haven't done anything wrong. Whats the big deal?" Lets start with what's wrong:
1. Illegal crossing into the United States without admission is illegal.
2. Working with fraudulent documents - also a crime.
3. Having children and not paying the hospital bill.
4. Increased crime. Lets face it, alot of crime is committed
by Mexican illegals. DUI-which seems to be out of conrol
with the Mexicans is dangerous to other drivers. People
have been killed by drunk illegals who shouldn't have been
here. By the way, illegals are 30% of Federal Prisoners.
5. School overcrowding- children of illegals are overcrowding
public school systems. That's why I left NYC.

There's the answer to what's wrong.

Legal Mexican (or any other nationality for that matter) immigrants are welcome in my opinion. Illegal immigrants spit on our constitution, laws, culture, and they ARE committing a fourth degree felony.
A Felony is doing something wrong, It is a big deal and if you do not believe it commit on in front of a police officer and find out just how big a deal.
Part of that big deal is that in the jails some 38 to 52 % of the criminal population, depending on where you live is illegal immigrants and it costs every American citizen an average of around $29,000.00 per year to incarcerate these criminals(of these criminals 69% are in jail for ilegal Sexual Penitration of a female under the age of 13 the rest are for violent crimes or dealing drugs) I live in the southwest and the 400 bed hospital has lost $21,000,000.00 this year because of treatment of illegals who never ever pay their bills at the ER.
How the hell can you say they have done nothing wrong?

Edit: Tapatiafina You are just as much a criminal for supporting illegals as they are. It is called Aiding and Abetting. Look it up and see the legal defination. As for this making me an Ahole, FINE you are still a criminal and subject top the penalities of the law!

i do no longer think of this could be a left-precise concern because of the fact the final President that gave unlawful immigrants Amnesty became into Ronald Reagan. in my view, i'm liberal, yet i choose unlawful immigrants to have amnesty with particular provisions like paying a great, gaining awareness of english, and passing a history examine. yet those ideals do no longer stem from my political ideology, yet my cultural identity as a son of two criminal immigrants.

there are a lot of problems with illegals here in the U.S. and yes, there a lot of bad but there are also a lot of good! people just look at the bad and hate all mexicans and are just cold hearted. Even for illegals that are trying to get legal, they make it SO hard for them. I am now married to a mexican and am in the process of getting him legal. I am a US citizen and we have been working on his papers for 2 years now and have another 3 years to go and have already forked out, hmmm lets see......probably over $6000 so far and right now we are in the process of sending in his AOS (adjustment of status) and thats going to cost ANOTHER $1000. Its crazy and its only going to get worse, from what i have been hearing...

i like this question, and u are right....a lot of them havent done anything wrong! people need to stop making a HUGE deal out of it!

I think that LEGAL immigration is great. It gives americans a chance to be mixed with some people other than ourselves. Plus, I'm not being racist, it's just the truth... Mexicans take all the jobs Americans don't want... and they're happy with it, so it's fine by me. But ILLEGAL immigration, that's something else. They come here illegally, barely able to speak English, and they get all of these rights for free... idk, it's kinda hard for me to put in to words. Bottom line, illegal immigrants piss me off.

"They haven't done anything wrong" is an erroneous blanket statement. Just pick up any newspaper or watch the TV news on any given night.

The same as I do about immigration from any other country. I welcome all legal immigrants (from ANY country), I'd like to see all illegal aliens leave.

If you don't like things being directed at Mexicans, then why perpetuate it by asking a directed question yourself?

If they are legal, they have every right to be here. If they are illegal, they should go home and come back legal. If I go t their country, I have to have a passport, visa or whatever, so why shouldn't they? I have to have a passport to even go on vacation in their county, so if I have to do it, so should they.
