a basic education someone who says can i help you then puts you through to the wrong person or cuts you of. no serious i have an excellent Secretary she has 5 gcse`s and she does shorthand it all depends on the companiess they work for different companies need different things their is different pay scales as well our companie pays the reseptionist 17 grand a year but she dubbles up as th p.r assistant.

1. Pleasant demeanor. You have to make people feel welcome.
2. Ability to answer phones. Pleasant voice is a plus.
3. Neat and clean appearance.
4. Computer skills are being asked for more all of the time.

one needs to first of all have good communiction skills. should be computer literate. should know how to answer calls especially external, know how to make calls, should know how to use a polite language, how to interact with people of different kinds. should have a warm welcome.e.t.c

good communication skills, good people skills,
good computer skills and sometimes employers want someone with experience
