I have been singing for years and I have found the phrase practice makes perfect to be true. First you need to find your range. From there pick songs that you think could benefit your singing career if that is what you wish to pursue. Your voice will progress the more you work with it, but don't overdo it.

You should try taking vocal lessons. If you have any talent as a singer the training will bring it out. It's a common known fact that most of the great rock and roll singers started out as kids in choirs or acting schools taking professional voice lessons.

(Although they rarely admit to it!)

A voice coach and a ton of money might help, along with a little natural talent.
