There are no grants to START a nonprofit. organization. You need to start your nonprofit first, and then apply for funding. If you do it yourself, it does not cost a lot of money to start your organization. The Foundation Center has information on how to start and how to find and apply for funding at http://www.foundationcenter.org

If you want to search the US Government database of grants to see what types of grants and funds are available, go to www.http://www.grants.gov

Not surprisingly, most grants go to more established organizaitons with well documented history or results and staff in place to handle the program elements. Once you have got your organization up and running, and you find a grant that you think you might be eligible for, you might want to approach other orgs that operate in your field of interest, and see if they are interested in 'teaming up" with you on the proposal to maximize your chances of success.
