On the top floor lived my family: my mother, father, brother, and me.

Or should it be, "my mother, father, brother, and I?"

the correct use is "I".

Here's a way to test which is correct.

Reverse the sentence. Which is correct? "I lived on the top floor?" or "Me lived on the top floor?"

Of course, the first one is right. That is a quick and easy general way to tell which form of a pronoun to use.

It's still sort of an awkward sentence, though.

I would say "My parents, my brother and I live on the top floor". Good luck.

It should be 'I'. Although the family list comes at the end of this sentence, it is still part of the subject of the sentence.

"I" since, "I lived" not "me lived" It's only me when it's the direct object.
