I definitely have the same problem but there's no reason for you to feel like this is somehow a bad thing. Be grateful for who you are and just be yourself and you'll be fine. The most important thing in having good social skills is believing in yourself and you're convictions and then state those convictions with authority and confidence.Sometimes I say the dumbest things because I feel it's some how my responsibility to entertain and provide conversation for others but the truth is,is that it isn't and many times it's wiser to keep quite. so go ahead and see you're shyness as a virtue and when you're ready to say what you need to say than say it and don't worry what others may think because there still trying to figure out there own sayings and form of speech as a person. To Thine own self be true.

Just pay attention to convos going on. Make some input, be talkative, face your fear of being outgoing. Balance out your shyness with annoyance. But remember it's good to say nothing at all rather than something stupid :P A lot of guys tend to like shyer girls because they are not so effin loud and annoying, but can keep a good convo rolling. good luck

I used to be like that, but some people might take your shyness as if your stuck up and dont want to talk to them. So try to talk as much as you can to people and be clear and loud so they can hear you and make eye contact. Only you can make yourself shy, or come out of your shell and be confident. Who cares if you might mess up laugh it off, nobody really is paying attention to that sort of stuff unless you make it noticable.

Ok this may seem extreme, but my shyness practically disappeared after I spent a vacation traveling around England by myself. (my friend cancelled at the last minute so I went anyway)

be confident of who you are... that is the best way to get rid of shyness... some of the ways to boost your conifidence is by looking at yourself at the mirror, recording yourself in a videocam at playing it... by this method you can see yourself and you can see the things that you can improve.. by this way, you can gain confidence... also talking to strangers (eg. asking for time or direction) can boost your confidence..

1.) Learn to accept social failure. Everyone puts their foot in their mouth now and then.
2.) Know the crowd your dealing with. Don't hang around aggressive people

well just be proud of who you are =) but that's easier said than done. Go to the gym and get in really good shape, haha, and you won't be able to help but be confident

Yes be confident. Imagine yourself in your little mind, you are controlling a body, your body. They cannot see you in your mind, but they can see your physical robotic appearance. Just think of you as a little being inside your head controlling your body :)
