It isn't just guys that like NASCAR. I'm a woman & I love it way more than my husband. It is an exciting competition if you understand about points and what regulations they have to follow. I find it interesting too because not all the tracks are built the same way and some drivers are better on some tracks than others. There are a lot of variables that make it interesting.

I've got big news for you! It's not just men who like NASCAR. Not at all. I've got a whole bunch of women friends who love it too! They go to races whenever they can. It's exciting stuff. I'm not a fan personally, but hey, if it makes some people happy, so what. We've all got something we like. It's good that we're not all the same. It would make for a pretty boring world.

I started going to races back in the 1960s, because the kids that I grew up with were back yard mechanics. We built our own hot rods and raced at a local track. Nascar was where we wanted to be, but we lacked the money and probably the talent to make it. Back in those days we could take an old car and soup up the engine and work on it our selves. I couldn't do that today because stock cars are not stock factory like they were back in the day. I only watch the short track races today because that's where I grew up at, on the !/4 mile tracks in the midwest.

Half of all NASCAR fans are women now and we love it for the same reasons that men do. It's one heck of an adrenaline rush. I watched it with my son just to appease him and got hooked in only three races. Now I can't get enough of it BUT I would go stark raving mad if I had to sit through a basketball or football game.

Because the chicks who show up at the races are HOT!
Besides that, NASCAR racing is all about constant action. From the racing itself, all over the track, to the pit stops, there is always something going on. It is the only contact sport where the action isn't stopped for beatin' and bangin', unless someone goes over the line. I like it even better than hockey.

A 358 cubic inch american V8 with a big Holley carb. held wide open for 500 miles x 43.
And the races are just long enough to consume a 6 pack of beer and cook a T-bone on the barby.

Hey, I have tons of guy friends that are Nascar fanatics. They all are into cars, speed... I guess if your guy isn't into that then maybe something else floats his boat.. Most real men have a need for speed & cars..If your guy has never been to a nascar race, hey go, tons of guys for the thrills,girls...Not all of them are 300 pounds and no teeth, thats just a Nascar myth But if he is with you then it doesn't matter....Go you'll see..If you just watch it on TV, sorry you do not get the real feeling of Nascar...

It's all about the speed, the personalities, the strategy. If you like hockey, then you know you have to learn a bit about how the game is played to truly appreciate it.
I just shake my head at the ignorance of those who say idiotic stuff like "All they do is drive around in circles all day"
Because you didn't say that, I appreciate your question. I used to think the same thing once. Now I am hooked for life.
