All trough out its pages, the Bible emphasizes that the seventh day of the week is the Sabbath. What is the seventh day? We can look it up in the Webster dictionary:
"seventh day -- Saturday, the seventh day of the week."
The reason why we observe the Sabbath on a Sunday is because the church changed it even though God never gave it the authority to do so. It is a false doctrine that has no support in the Bible. It is a complete invention of misguided men. God Himself specifically warns us not to tamper with His law.
"Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish aught from it ..." (Deuteronomy 4:2)
God made the Sabbath for us, it is our Sabbath, for our benefit, and yet we changed it to a different day. It is an appointment that God has set aside for quality time with Him. He always eagerly waits for us on that day, but we never come.
I recommend reading the short study guide called "The Lost Day of History" which explains this topic in a lot more detail.

Everything you ever wanted to know about the Sabbath. A very helpful website, I recommend it.

Sabbath was a covenant between God and His children, Israel.
When Jesus died ont he Cross, the Promise of Salvation was given to all people (Jew and Gentile).
Teh old covenants (Law of Moses, Circumsision and Sabbath) were no longer binding, but still held significance.
The only bind we have now is our Bond to Jesus, our saviour.
Many people feel closer to Jesus by fellowshipping with others. He tells us that this is good for us.
I know I feel closer to God by Keeping His commandments and celebrating the Old Covenants (found in the Old Testament).
In the New Covenant (new testament) Jews were released from the Old Covenant, because Jesus came to fulfill them.
Man lives a better and closer life withGod by undertsanding the meaning of His covenant.
Be sure of one thing, it doesn't matter whether or not you keep a Sabbath (my fellow Seventh-Day Adventists may disagree with me), so long as One understands that the Bind/Seal is NOT the Physical Keeping of a Sabbath, but the Acceptance of the Grace of Jesus Christ-our New Covenant.
Once this has happened, many people find they WANT to keep the Old Covenants, to live a healthy and clean lifestyle, as a testament to Jesus.

It seems to me that Faith has a point there. I have always believed that this command was given to us so that we would take a day and honor our Lord and rest and be good to ourselves also. So the Sabbath would be any day of our choosing, and maybe after 5 or 6 long days of working, such as SUNDAY, if you go to work on Monday. Hope that helps.

Tuesday. Surely any day where you can get a second Subway sandwich for .99 has to be a divinely annointed one.
On a side note, anyone who says Saturday is the seventh day of the week and is therefore "the sabbath" needs to do a LITTLE more research on ancient calendar systems.

Sabbath means - ( "to rest from labour"),
Mark 2 27And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: 28Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
We have authority to command our Sabbath, not the Sabbath to command us.
As Jesus said: man is Lord over his Sabbath

Saturday, the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God.
"The sabbath was made for man . . ." ~ Jesus Christ
Notice that Jesus Christ did not say that "the sabbath was made for the Jew." !

I thought the sabbath was Sunday. Remember... if you work on the sabbath you must be put to death...says so in the bible.

Under the Old Covenant, it was Saturday, however, under the New Covenant. we do not put one day above another. All days are to be used for worship. praise, and prayer, as well as Bible study.
