Please...someone tell me that there are others among us who DON'T believe in the InvestiagtiveJudgment as a LITERAL event?
Surely, Jesus is an Eternal Being who does not need to operate on Human Lengths?
...maybe it was just to save face?
AND
Ellen White...am I the only one who doesn't think she is a "prophect" prophet, but merely a speaker to the people, and a good person, mostly?

The Bible teaches that there is no Gender in the eyes of God.
So, in the eyes of man?
It doesn't matter what Gender you are.
Of course, culturally, this is another matter.

Dave C:
I don't see why I shouldn't fellowship with my family and friends over something so minute as the exact date Jesus supposedly entered a heavenly Sanctuary to start judging mankind.
I owuld appreciate discussing this matter in email, but you do not allow that, which is a shame.
Men in the Church: A true shame you think that way, Dave C. Think of how many people who may not be saved because the Adventist Church operates on an Image, as opposed to the leading of induviduals.
I mean really, what is the difference between a woman preaching and counselling within a church, and ordination? A piece of paper!
Ellen White surely may have been a Prophetess, but that does not decrease her fallibility.
Save Face: the Face of the Millerite Movement, whowere surley embarrased by the Great Disappointment.
Why does it matter whether or not we believe in an investigative Judgment?
Why is this so central to our doctrine when it is so un-important?

Are you saying you're a Seventh-day Adventist and, yet, you *don't* believe in the Investigative Judgment? Don't get me wrong, but if you don't believe that, what is your reason for remaining a member of a church which teaches something in which you don't believe?
Huh? "Human Lengths"? Do you mean "human terms"? If so, yes, Jesus (as the WORD of GOD) explains things to us in terms we understand. That does not make them any less valid, though.
Well, seems to me that Ellen G. White is the major reason Armstrong left the SDA church and started the World-Wide Church of God. Me, on the other hand, I do believe Ellen G. White was a true prophetess of God.
I personally don't have a problem with women teachers and preachers (or prophets). We have examples of those in the Bible. I don't think a woman pastor, though, is part of God's intent for His Church. The Church, as a whole, is led by Christ and an individual church, therefore, should be led by a man as a type of Christ.
EDIT:
Lone Ranger:
Can't speak definitively on which Armstrong I'm thinking of, but I can say, definitely, that the SDA church didn't split off of any other church. Rather, members of different religions (Baptist, Methodist, Millerite, etc.) came together because of common beliefs and formed a new religion under the guidance of God Himself.

Unfortunately, there are too many nuts on here whom get their jollies out of sending hate mail -- so, had to turn it off.

I've seen claims and supposed examples as to her fallibility, but I've studied them out myself, in context, and I don't find any such fallibility. Note, I don't claim she is infallible, I've just not found any such fallibility after studying such claims for myself.

Again, whom am I to question God. After the Great Disappointment, the men I spoke of earlier got together and studied these things out and found this alternative explanation for the events of Oct. 22, 1844. Afterwards, God confirmed to Ellen G. White that what they had found was the correct interpretation -- even so far as confirming the very date itself.

What exactly is a prophect prophet? I am sure there are others who are Seventh-day Adventists in name alone...I have met quite a few of you in fact...in Jesus day they might be called Sadducees. There are others who might be considered as Pharisees. There are many people who don't believe the teachings of the churches they attend. The question is why go to a church that teaches something you don't believe in? I am a Seventh-day Adventist because the things I have read from the Bible make sense...and the SDA Church seems to believe what I believe too...
We don't believe in Ellen White, we believe in God...Ellen White has basically given us more detail of things from the Bible...including many of the prophecies.
The Bible says that the remnant Church will have the Testimony of Jesus Christ (which is the Spirit of Prophecy), and will keep the Commandments of God...that is to love God and our neighbor--spelled out with detail in the 10 Commandments. What makes you think it is unimportant how judgment will take place? I think it is exciting to know truth. Knowledge is increasing in the last days...the latter rain is coming!

Ellen G. White was called of God. She has been used by God and she was happy to do so. She was indeed a prophet. God revealed events to her and for this we should be thankful. God wants us to understand His words more plainly. She was taken off in visions and passages of scriptures were explained to her and these were passed on to us.
She knew there would have been controversy and God knows this too, so she was led to tell us in the book Gospel Workers, page 303 that 'It is the enemy that leads minds off on sidetracks. He is pleased when those who know the truth become engrossed in collecting scriptures to pile around erroneous theories, which have no foundation in truth."
Her writings do not supersede the Bible and she made that plain. Let us prayerfully study the Word so that God can use us. We as Seventh-Day Adventists cannot believe half of the Bible or try to interpret it in our own way to fit our feelings*2. There is an Investigative Judgment."The study of the subject of the Sanctuary should be carefully examined, as it lies at the foundation of our faith and hope."*
We are blessed, so let us pray for each other.

The judgment is going to be a literal event. If it is not, then you have no basis for believing the Bible.
Dave C.: ***** Well, seems to me that is the major reason Armstrong left the SDA church and started the World-Wide Church of God. *******
Herbert Armstrong was, as far as I can tell from his autobiography and the history of the Worldwide Church of God, never a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was a member of the Church of God 7th Day, which, in actuality, the SDA's split off from back in the 1800's from what I can tell. Have you seen this book:
