Rich men go after the camels. They just have to wait in line.

Hmm... that very same question has been on my mind for the past two days.

Whenever the rich young ruler asked Jesus what he must do to inherit the kingdom of God, Jesus said "Sell all that you have and give it to the poor". The rich young ruler walked away very sad. He could not make the decision to trust in God to meet his needs while he used his personal resources to help others OR live in the lap of luxury.
Not that God couldn't provide for the poor himself, but at times he chooses other vessels to do so.

The main reason though... If you are poor, you have no choice but to trust in God. If you are rich and believe in God, you really have no reason to trust Him, and if you did... you would use your assets to help others rather than to be self indulgent.

I went to a Christian concert once (southern gospel actually) where the lead singer had multiple blingy diamond and gold rings on his fingers that sparkled in the lights every which way he moved. Do you think that that brought glory to God? Or made the singer feel better as a man? The money that went into buying those rings would have been better off going towards helping people that truly need it.

We must convey Christ's love to others and not covet power, respect, or money like many of the televangelists seem to do.

Before examining the Televangelist, make sure that you understand that being rich is not the problem, it's what one does with all of the money.

Most people see a rich man as one who has the most... instead of seeing them as ones who need the least... it is all in our perception of the situation.

If the money is used according to God's will and to further His Kingdom, why would that soul be denied the reward of Heaven? Because they were rich is certainly not the matter in this case.

On the other hand, if one used all the money for their own agenda which is usually pleasure and possessions while denying God, then certainly that soul is doomed to hell.

Once money is tithed, gifted or given as an offering to a Televangelist, Minister, Preacher, etc., with pure intentions, God honors that soul who gave to that particular ministry according to His promises.

What the recipient of the money does with it remains under the eye and judgment of God. Rather he uses it as he should or misuses it determines how God will deal with them.

A Televangelists motive for using TV should be because of the possibilities to reach a larger audience with the gospel. If this same fellow takes this money designated for the work of God and uses it for their own needs that exceed humility, and are impure, that ministry will eventually fall.

A portion of the blame for supporting a Man of God whatever his ministry falls on the shoulders of those who are supporting them. It is their responsibility to descern and be aware of how their offerings are being used.

A rich and flashy corrupt Televangelist has no place in God's kingdom, and will recieve the proper justice for their deeds in the end.

As a Christian, I myself, and this is only my view, have a problem with televangelists- to a point. I think spreading the word of God is important. However, if they are getting wealthy off spreading God's word- I really don't agree with this. The church I attend is a modest but clean building. Our pastor works a full- time job- as not do depend on us to support him- even though I feel he could do so much for others if he didn't have to work- however that is his choice.
It is not impossible for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God- however- with money alot of times comes pride and wanting to more and more.

That verse does not say a rich man CANNOT enter the kingdom of God, it states it is EASIER for a camel to pass THAN for a rich man to enter. It is a literal interpretation that a man who is greedy or selfish will find it difficult to follow in the footsteps of God.

Being a televangelist does not provide a ticket into the kingdom of heaven, the other point is that not all televangelists really believe what they are preaching and they may do the televanglising for different motives.

hi, Nowhere does it say that the a wealthy guy can't enter the dominion of the heavens. The assertion from Jesus became into that it may be extra durable for a wealthy guy to circulate into. Why? considering a multi-millionaire's concentration/heart could tend to be on fabric issues instead of non secular issues.

They exist because many of their faithful followers expect to be as rich as they some day. Oral Roberts, Creflo Dollar, Kenneth Hagin and Frederic Price preach that Jesus was rich.
Price asked how could Judas have been stealing money from the group's treasury for all the years of Jesus' ministry and nobody noticed that money was missing. His conclusion was that Jesus had so much, he never missed what was stolen.

I've got knews for you- most Christians probably don't expect many televangelists to go to heaven, particularly the rich ones.

First of all,you have to keep that in context. It is the man who trusts in his riches to get him into heaven that won't make it.There are plenty of rich folks who are very faithful to God and give very much. There are plenty of Televangelists who better enjoy what they are raking in now! There ain't gonna be no later.

Who says they're going to heaven anyway?
It is not what a man has in the form of material things that determines his salvation. But its his heart condition that Jehovah God looks at and the motives for serving Him.
