Okay, yes he's on the rebound perhaps. Then again, he's lonely. Like most men, he's used to being taken care of. If he has been with your mom for the majority of his life, he is fearful of facing what's left of it alone. At this point in life, it is more about companionship than love.
More importantly, how dangerous can a 72 year old woman be? Now if she's 52, see the B**** to the door.

Thats insane. Well he's going to kill a lot of time by realizing in a couple years he never really knew this woman, breaking it off, and having to start all over again. I think you should step in, he is a grown man but he's probably lonely and not thinking correctly.

Yeah 2 dates is too soon. He is a grown man. If this is what he feels he needs then maybe he knows best. You could just ask him if he is sure this is what he wants to do. You could just talk to him and tell him your concerns. He has a right to know how you feel. It does not mean he will listen. Good luck to you both.

Butt out & let him go. He's 72 & he needs a companion; if the lady seems o.k., then leave him alone.

I think you should tell your dad how you feel about the situation. Make sure to give details. And explain your reasons!
