Does anybody know how much it cost to add or change your real name. I heard its like $500 but i'm not sure please help.

No, its not $500 - this is something you can do on your own.. you do NOT need a lawyer ( I know - because I changed my sons last name ) -----
go up to your local courthouse(clerk of course i think - otherwise - they can guide you where to go)
get a "change of name" form - fill that out - and the judge has to okay it.
price - under $100.00 -
easy to do - not as expensive as you thought!

Look up legal name change on the internet and there are quite a few reference websites. Usually it involves getting the paperwork from a clerk of the court, filling it all out and sometimes running a newspaper ad in your local paper. It can cost as much as $500 but it is possible to get it done cheaper if you don't use a lawyer.

my mom had to change my brothers last name and it's cost $20,but i think a first name change is a couple of $100 i think it depends what state you live in.

Depends on which state you live in. In the 80's, it was only about $200.00. But I would guess $500.00 is about right for now.

It depends on how many documents you have to change - you don't need to change them all however, but you always need to have the name-change certificate with you to prove you're the same person.

It depends on what state you live in. With an attorney, in Indiana its around $1000.00
