can anyone differentiate the various pharmaceutical preparations in terms of their route of administration?

There's quite a lot. Some of them are as follows:
ORAL ROUTE:
>>Tablets/pills - a mixture of active substances and excipients pressed or compacted into a solid.
>>Capsule - small gelatinous case enclosing a dose of medication.
>>lozenges - medicated candy that dissolves slowly in the mouth which lubricates and soothes irritated tissues of the throat.
>>syrup - adding active ingredients into concentrated solution of refined sugar in distilled water.
>>suspension - a powdered medicine diluted in water.

TRANSDERMAL ROUTE:
>>Patches - a medicated adhesive material applied to skin where an active ingredient is absorbed.

RECTAL ROUTE"
