I dont think 2 dollars make that much of a difference. In my opinion this was extreme

Maybe he only had enough to cover the 25 dollar shoes. I don't know your family's money situation, but I think you need to be more grateful and appreciative for what you can get. Always be grateful for whatever someone gives you, even if it's not what you really want. But, they could have used that money for themselves, but they used it to buy YOU something instead.

Did you offer to pay the difference?
Nope. Didn't think so.
Be grateful you have new shoes to wear. There's millions of children in the world who have never owned a new pair of shoes.

We don't buy brand name clothing b/c frankly, we don't care about name. :) My kids are happily clothed.
In this case, since the difference wasn't even $2, you could have chipped in the difference if you wanted them. :)

yeh thats ridiculous
i think he was just saying that coz he wanted you to get the other shoes, it really had nothing to do with the cost... its only a $1.50 more

Ummmm...that's just wrong. UNLESS he couldn't afford them. I'm sure you know somewhat about your parents finances. If not...you might have just learned a thing or two.

no, because it's his money and he can determine what he will buy. when you don't have your own money you don't have control and power. parents have a budget. you should consider making your own money if you want to buy more than your parents will spring for.
