depends on when you get up. You should be getting about 8-9 hours of sleep at your age. (some kids need more) But to be at your best and healthy 8-9 hours of sleep.

My Daughter is 12 She goes to bed about 9:30pm and gets up at 5:45am for school.

On the week end she goes to bed about 11pm and gets up by 9:30am at the latest. (unless there is a sleep over then lights out at 2am and sleep till they wake up on there own.)

Bed time for a 14 year old during the school week should be 9 pm, lights out by 9:30 pm. (that would include Sunday nights.) Weekends (Friday and Sat) 12 pm. That is assuming home by an 10 curfew and a couple hours to kick back. Reward for good grades etc could include extended hours for special days like Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas with the expection that the next school morning, they be up and ready to go.

Some may say later, but I see too many sleep deprived teens these days and sleep deprivation doesn't help them mentally or emotionally.

When I was 14 I got to make my own bed time as long as I was in my room by 10pm, never late for school, and didn't sleep past noon on the weekends.

If I was late for school my parents would give me a 930pm bedtime for two weeks and then let me try again to set my own schedule.

I think it's important to let teenagers take some responsibility for their own time management. After all, what better way to learn how to set your schedule as an adult...when mommy and daddy aren't there to turn your lights out or wake you up in the morning? I plan on having the same bedtime policy for my kids when they are teens because it worked out really well for me.

I think about 9:30/10ish is about the time he should go to bed on a school night. I have no idea when his school starts but I would say about 30 minutes before he has to catch the bus. Weekends I would say anytime before one in the morning.

Let the boy sleep in as long as he wants saturday. Sunday is still a school night, so for school nights 10pm is good and no later.
