Christians oppose many scientific views; like they believe that god created the earth while science has a theory that earth was created from the big bang. Also in some countries religion is incorporated in science classes so as to give a religious view of a topic. So with these type of differences would Christains believe in science?

Its too hard to pick a 'best answer'; they were all really good. So thanks everyone who answered, its helped me understand about it all. I've decided to leave it up to the public votes to decide on a 'best answer'.
Good Luck!

Many believers in God do indeed embrace science, evolution, and the Big Bang theory. Progressive churches have thought this way since the late 1800's. It's not a new concept. There is actually a school of thought among spiritualists that religion and science will blend together and become the new religion.

Science and creationism are compatible. The God whom created the universe created science, and he could have very well created this through a big bang.
Some Christians believe in a relatively 'new' earth but others like myself believe in an old earth. That some things in Scripture are not to be taken literally but are spoken in what are called 'time frames'.

"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."
Albert Einstein "Science, Philosophy and Religion: a Symposium", 1941
"Gravity explains the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who set the planets in motion. God governs all things and knows all that is or can be done."

Most Christian don't oppose scientific views, just the way that science has been applied to separate God from His wondrous works.
"All science is either physics or stamp collecting."

Most Christians believe in the big bang theory. The genesis story was never meant to be a scientific or historical account.

Not all science is perfect or constant so I do not totally believe in any theory that has not survived the test of time....a great deal of time. Whether or not my religious views were discussed in a science class would not make me believe more or less.

yes if you really looked at the whole story and not just at what the text books say than you would see that the evidence actually points to a creator. look all around you. the Sky's, the Chance of other life out their is 1 in 1*10to the 28th power.our sun is a yellow dwarf (big) most stars are red dwarfs. even up close they could not produce life. our plant is placed in a "safety Zone" we are between two arms of our Galaxy. this way we are still rotating but we are not affected by supernovas. also look at the Cambrian explosion ( its where fully developed animals appear with no evlotion steps) look into it. Jesus said "i am the way the trouth and the light no one comes to the father except by me." God loved you so much that he sent his son to die for you. Jesus loves you!

I'm a Christian. To suggest that I don't "believe" in science is absurd. I not only believe in it, but study it. I strongly support scientific research. I do not subscribe to the theory of intelligent design, nor do I oppose stem cell research. Not all Christians are anti-scientific technophobes.

I am a Christian and I do believe in science. Generalizing is a dangerous thing, dear. Christians, like non-Christians, are people and each are wonderfully different. Not all Christians will argue evolution, and many non-christians doubt the big bang.

We say God created the Big Bang.
Of course we believe in science, but we know that science doesn't have all the answers. There are just some things that are outside of the realm of science.
