I have a Ithaca 10 gage double barrel shotgun, I think in was made in 1917. Does have a dog engraved on both sides of chamber. I asked where to the field grade stamp, if there was one or where or who do I ask about finding this. One answer was to check trigger guard, but there was not a stamp there. Does anyone have an idea???? Please help

Ithaca did make some 10 gauge Double Barrels. What size Chamber does yours have? 2 7/8"? Serial number ? The Dog engraving was common for these shotguns regardless of gauge, so that is a dead end, along with markings on the trigger guard, as most gauges had no such markings.... The serial number will tell a lot.....

If you've been looking for the stamp and haven't found it, it doesn't have it. It would be pretty visible (unless it has been worn off). You've got yourself a pretty decent goose gun; due to it's age, please have a reputable gunsmith check it out before shooting it
