Generally, they're a bad idea. What they do is open a portal into the spirit world, and most people who use a ouija do not close this portal or don't know that a portal even exists. Bad or negative energies and entities are often attracted to ouijas. They do work, but not for much good. They are not a toy, and it appalls me that they are sold in toy stores.
To alter a quote from the great Forrest Gump, "Playing with a ouija is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." lol. In other words, it's like reaching out into the darkness. You don't know what's out there, whether it's good or bad. And the bad ones can deceive you. You are opening up yourself, your home, and the people around you to negative forces that aren't always easy to get rid of.
If your interested in divination, try automatic writing, dowsing, meditation, tarot cards, or something along those lines.

My, there are a lot of ouja board questions in this forum. They can work but I don't recommend them. Unless you are the type of person that would leave your front door open for any stranger off the street to walz right into your home. Now think of what you are doing when you invite stray spirits home.

The responses of the Ouija board are guided by your own subconscious self. It is not "real".

The important thing to know is that it doesn't matter if the board works. What matters is that you are inviting disembodied spirits (Evil) into your space, your house, maybe your body, or your life without even realizing it. And then placing faith in them. Very dangerous.

Attempting to contact the spirit world with a Ouija board is much like trying to buy a Ferrari with Monopoly money.
The only difference is that Ferraris exist.
