That we pray to statues.
That we worship the Blessed Virgin Mary.
That we worship the pope. (I don't even like the guy.)
That we're cannibals.
That we think a man (a priest) can take away our sins. (Only Jesus can do that; the priest is a conduit.)
That Jesus didn't found the Church Himself through Peter.
That we think we're the only ones going to heaven.
There's a few.

...or LACK of belief?
I'm an Atheist.
1. That Atheists have some sort of manifesto which we all abide.
>>The only thing Atheists have in common is the belief there is no god.
2. That Atheists are Communists.
>>Some probably are. But Atheism and Communism are not synonymous. I believe in Democracy and I abhore Communism, Dictatorships, and Theocracies.
3. That Atheists are confused, misguided, or mad at god.
>>Most Atheists struggled with TRYING to believe in god. Most did not want to be an Atheist but was lead to Atheism in search for truth.
4. That Atheists are without morals
>>Atheists are like any other group of people. Some have morals, some do not. Morals come from a persons upbringing, their desire to live in peace, and their understanding that society benefits from its people's willingness to abide certain codes of conduct. Those codes change throughout time and differ with societies.
5. That Atheists hate religious people.
>>We do not hate religious people. We hate when religous people force their beliefs on others. Religious differences cause war, murder, and bigotry; off of which are immoral.
6. Atheists are the same as Satanists.
>>>This Atheists beleives Satanists are just "twisted Christians." Atheists do not believe there is a devil just as they do not believe there is a god.
7. Atheists do not make good citizens.
>>> On the contrary. Many Atheists find "meaning" in life by contributing to their communities. Just like people from all walks of life do.

I consider myself a spiritualist (raised Catholic, believe in God, karma, reincarnation, some aspects of astrology, numerology, psychics and generally see the world as a universerse not just one God-made planet with nothing but biblical beliefs). Of course no two spiritualists are alike and the way I see things may not be the way someone else sees it.
It is stereotype that having eastern philosophies or beliefs is "new age" when it existed long before Christianity in the church sense came out (historically speaking).
That we are all secular liberals who embrace hedonism, free sex, cast evil spells and have no morals.
That we don't love God as much as Christians and strict-fundamentalist religions do.
That we have no sense of direction and are "led astray".
We just want to be free to express our own beliefs without mocking others or putting others down. I know I may not always be right, but that's why I'm growing everyday. The only person I have to answer to is my God-center within and God Him/Herself.

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, this is what I hear about my religion that is INCORRECT:
we don't believe in Jesus?
of course we do, and we believe that he is the only-begotten son of our Creator, Jehovah God.
we don't dance, drink, or have any kind of fun?
wrong, wrong, and wrong...you should have been with me and my friends last weekend!
only 144,000 will be saved?
ummm...there's 6.5 million JW's worldwide, so obviously we don't believe that
we get paid to, or are forced to go door-to-door?
nope, strictly voluntary and it doesn't mean we're 'saved' either.
we don't believe in medicine/doctors/hospitals?
confusing us with someone else, all of my kids are well aquainted with our family Doctor...who is NOT a JW.
we're a brainwashed cult who thinks we're better than everyone else?
my dirty mind needed a good washing anyway. haha. look up the words "cult" and "brainwashed" in the dictionary first before throwing around words you obviously don't know the correct meaning to. No Witness thinks s/he is better than anyone, we're all human and God created us equal. The difference is we choose to obey his biblical laws and principals.
we take the bible too literally
Sorry, but I don't believe that a literal dragon with 7 heads and 10 horns was thrown down to earth. I do, however, believe that Jehovah God hand made the universe and Adam and Eve...no I don't believe he did so in a literal 7 day period.
That's it I think....

People think I'm crazy because I spend my days pondering about the Apoclypse, and I believe in Bible Codes.
I am a Christian by the way, and i am thankful for this life God has given to me.

O my, you're asking for alot.
Ok, I'm a mormon. And there are alot of garbled versions about us. Here are all lies about us:
~were polygamists
~We worship satan
~We wear magic underwear that we can never take off. Not even showering.
~We wear turbans
~We are a cult
~We don't believe in christ
~We aren't christians
I could go on. But it's amazing all the lies people come up with about mormons.
if you want to know what we actually DO believe, check out mormon.org

That all Asatru are sexist, homophobic Neo-Nazis.
More general, that Odin is a misogynist jerk and Norse goddesses are weak. They aren't, Frigga takes the High Seat for Odin when he goes roaming, not his brothers. Freya gets half the honorable slain warriors in battle (Odin gets the other half).

Hmmm, where to start. There are numerous stereotypes about Witches...
--that we acknowledge that Christian devil as existing
--that we worship the Christian devil
--that we sacrifice our children to the devil
--that we must have an abortion to become a witch
--that we're all wiccan
--that we're all evil
--that our gatherings are really "black masses" and at said "black masses" we have perverted orgies
--that we molest children
--that we're "demons" in disguise as humans
--that we're suicidal
--that we're cannibals
--that we're "going to hell"
--that we're crazy
--that we're "just angry at God"
--that we think 'Charmed,' 'The Craft,' and 'Harry Potter' are true
--that we're all bisexual
--that we're promiscuous
--that we're on drugs
--that we're in a cult
--that we're out to forcibly convert your kids
There are more but I don't want to waste too much space.
