Like everyone says, birds are susceptible to extreme temperatures. A garage would either be very hot or very cold depending on the country, and the chemicals contained in the gases emitted by your vehicle would most surely remain there. All these could harm or, mostly likely, kill your birds. Please keep your parakeets indoors and make sure they are in a comfortable place.

NO! All birds are very easily killed by the cold. Especially pet store birds like parakeets. If it drops below 60 she/he is likely to catch cold and die. If you can't keep an animal in the house then don't get one! They need to have a temp of 75 degrees at all times to stay healthy. It is always recommended to keep them away from drafty areas like windows. So obviously a garage is not okay! Think about the health and safety of the animal please, and not your own need for cute things.
EDIT: It will most likely be too cold during the day as well as the night, so don't get any ideas.

No WAY ! Why would you have a parakeet if you don't want it in the house? The Garage is too cold. Unless it is heated , insulated, not drafty then maybe it would work.
Do you keep your car in there? If you do birds are very sensitive to dangerous gasses. In mines back in the day they used small birds as a way to detected for poisonous gas. If the bird died they knew it was unsafe to be in the mine.

Yes, but like everyone says avoid drafts. I keep my birds in a type of cabinet with glass doors. and it would be nice to put a small heater in the room for the really cold nights. If water freezes it's too cold. Parakeets should do fine, but some birds cannot (like button quail) so do some research. Also watch for mice... or you'll have a big problem very fast.
Also don't use the garage for your car.
And for lighting put your lights on a timer and check the bulbs often.

Depending on the condition of the garage, I would say probably not. Garages are drafty and the keets will most likely get ill very soon. These birds are little and ultra sensitive to temperature and light changes. Also the garage may be darker and more damp than they are used to which will result in unhappy and probably unhealthy birds.

No. Garages are usually pretty darn cold, and parakeets can get cold easily and probably die. You should keep it somewhere inside your house, some place that's warm.

No, it's not OK for ANY animals to live in the garage.
What's the point of having a pet and keeping it in your garage? Do you spend a lot of time in your garage? Would you want to live there?

I'm wondering why you'd want to keep your pets in the garage. It sounds as though you may not want them any more. If that's the case, it would be a good idea to sell them or give them away to someone who you know will look after them well.
