They're protesting at the Port of Tacoma these days trying to stop movement of equipment from Fort Lewis. I wish they'd just let us do our job and go back to college...

Some of my fellow soldiers are still at Fort Lewis... and the Infantry Brigade that just got back had trouble retrieving their equipment because of the protestors. Protest all you want, but why get in the way of us getting our stuff?

They must get extra credit for that from the liberal professors.

I don't know some of the college students; I am a graduate student, but I don't do any protesting and my "liberal" professors do not encourage it.

What I can not figure out is why the protestors in Washington state were protesting the arrival of military equipment coming back (not going to) Iraq. If they support the troops and want a withdrawal, why would they protest returning military units?

College students have been protesting since before we were born. That's just what college students do. They aren't protesting the military they are protesting the war in Iraq.

I dont agree that this is going to do any good and they should stop. You know how young people are.

Because believe it or not, the most educated sometimes are the most ignorant. Most of those college students you speak of have never, nor will they ever spend a day in the military. They do not know what it is like to volunteer your life away to protect a group of people who dont understand or appreciate your sacrifice. They do not know what it is like to go to another country and be more highly favored there than in your own country. They do not know the satisfaction that comes along with providing a village with running water, electricity, medical care, and protecting them from the guy down the street who would blow them up, shoot them, or use many other facites of his evil mind to ruin their lives.

But we do, and thank God that there are individuals like us who are willing to make the daily sacrifices we do. All is not forgotten so long as it never dies in our hearts, minds, and the essence of our being.

I was a college student at Virginia Tech when I married my husband. I don't protest the military, never have, never will. I support the military and I never heard of anyone at VT protesting the military. Of course, VT has the ROTC program, and Blacksburg is a very military friendly town.

Just my experience.

They think they are actually accomplishing something. When in actuality they are just wasting their hard earned tuition and the rest of the student body is just laughing at them. Such as the case when I was in college. I laughed at the protesters not because they were protesting but because of what they were protesting over. It was usually something stupid like "Free Tibet" or some crazy crap like that. That and they all reeked of marijuana and looked like they hadn't bathed or washed their clothes in months. I thought college was for LEARNING something useful and becoming productive members of society. Silly me!

As far as those jerk-offs in Washington State are concerned, they went beyond protesting. They actually sabotaged rail lines. This falls under the category of sedition and they should have been arrested, tried and if convicted, sentenced to lengthy prison terms, fined heavily and had all their assets seized.

I often see students protesting or collecting petitions against the war, for animals, for the environment, against the President, for political candidates of all types etc. etc.

Everyone has political opinions, but students have the luxury of having the time to express themselves.

Don't take it personally. Be jealous that you have to work for a living.

Frankly I'm shocked. THe college students these days don't care enough bout the world to protest something.

It's natural rebellion of the youth .

Not being able to realize the Ideal world is not the Real world.

They can not, do not, or will not understand that the world has truely evil people, who have no desire to talk things out and have a group hug, but to only kill those who do agree with them, which includes those who protest!

That is only a small portion of them. I used to spend a lot of time working around Cal Berkley. If you ask the Phrat guy's they will tell you they major in alcoholism and sleep.

Stanford has students that actually study, totally different atmosphere.

Haven't seen or heard any college students protesting the military and I'm stationed at a university. What's your source?
