Why would you put Christ into a pagan holiday?

Christmas and Thanksgiving have become disgustingly commercialized. I don't know if I will do it this year, but I think I am going to make a tradition of spending Christmas with someone who cannot afford a decent Christmas or volunteer at a soup kitchen or maybe volunteer at the suicide hotline. That won't be this year because I haven't gone for training yet. I intend to keep Christ in Christmas. Without Him Christmas doesn't mean much to me.

Well, the early Catholic Church already put Christ in by renaming the pagan winter solstice festivals "Christ's Mass." So, I suppose if you want to you can involve Christ with the holiday, however be prepared to accept that there are others who practice older traditions, such as Yule.

We are the ones that took Christ out of Christmas, are you willing to ask Him to be central in our celebration again? I am

I put Christ in my Christmas....I bake Jesus a great big beautiful birthday cake and put up a Nativity scene with lights all around it.. and the gifts under it instead of a tree....I don't allow Satan Claus on my premises...

Not a valid question, since the word "Christmas" already contains "Christ"...

No. Today it is too much about getting presents. Christ isn't really in Christian holidays anymore, they've been taken over by pagan holidays.

If you'd like.

That's what so nice about the season; each person gets to celebrate it as they wish.
