I am willing to listen. I was a cult member for more than a minute. Actually I was a member for over 20 years. So I want to know what is in it for me to believe in God again. What will it take? I have been out of the cult for better of 10 years. So what can you tell me?

I can tell you you're better off without religion.
But then you already knew that.

Congratulations on your recovery.

The question you need to ask is... do you believe in god? Usually if someone is in a cult or some sort of non- mainstream religion it's because they do have a sense of spirituality but they are not really buying into the dogma of the mainstream religions. This is not unusual, as most religions have a tendancy to lose the true spirituality that inspired them and become slaves to the dogma. Did you ever stop believing in god or do you have a sense of something higher and greater than yourself? If you fit the latter then you already believe in god you're just looking for some sort of teacher. If you wish to find one there will be one for you. The manifestation follows the desire. All you have to do is ask. Hope this helped. Good luck and blessings to you.

It matters not what you have done in your life or how far you have run from God....He is only a 1 step away from you. God is a loving Father and He loves you so very much. He wants to be a part of your life if you will only let Him. When you turn back to Him and repent, He will remember your sins no longer and you will then be able to spend eternity with Him.

Also He wants to bless you more than you know and in many different areas of your life. The greatest gift He wants to give you is eternal life. We all must remember that when we leave this world that another world awaits us. So if you want to know what is in it for you if you turn back to God.... The most direct a certain answer that I can give is "life eternal".

According to the Bible - God must draw you to Himself - it is not just a "choice" that you make or a prayer that you pray. Man is totally depraved and he cannot save himself. If left to himself, man will always choose wrongly because our hearts are like stone - hard and unyielding. Until God performs heart surgery by taking away your heart of stone and giving you a heart of flesh - there is no hope for you. (Romans 8, Ephesians) - However - God so loved the world that He gave his only son - that whosoever believes in Him will not perish . . . He has provided a way to a regenerated heart. What should you do? Seek Him - read His Word - Cry out to Him to show you your heart - I promise it will not be pretty (been there) - it is only by the grace and blood of Christ that we can be free inside. Until He reveals Himself to you - until He enlightens you - until he woos and draws you, you will not, cannot find Him on your own. It is His work.

How about living forever. Sounds like a good deal don't you think? But everybody must convince himselfe of what is the truth. And it is not the easy way. Look around yourselfe. All this can't have happend by accident. So if there is a creator it stands to reason that he left us with a manual(bible). All we have to do is look into it. You wouldn't start fixing a car without knowing how would you?

First of all, good for you for getting out. I'm not sure of your circumstances, but the most important thing for you to do is read your Bible and pray to God, ask him to guide you. You will build up a personal relationship with him. If you are not saved, I would suggest getting saved (repent of your sins, telling God that you are sorry for doing what you know that He was not approving of and that you do not intend on sinning anymore, with His help).

There are so many benefits to living for God. Of course, all humans will have trials and heartaches, but God takes care of his people, he will guide you, bring you comfort and wisdom. He will help you find a church that lives by His standard and help strengthen you and give you fellowship.

Best of luck in this journey. As many insincere people as there are on here, also know that there a few good ones as well, that when they have read this, issue up a prayer that things might work out for you.

God is everywhere. No one knows how to talk to him. Evidence of his works are in our DNA, in the stars, in the amazing ecosystem he made for all of us (every living thing).
You can feel God in nature or in miracles (the birth of a child)
ALL religions are cults, some are bigger than others.
Seek him within, know what i mean? NONE of us have the answer on God, it certainly isn't in a 1500 year old book either, they were just regular folks too. Respect his earth as your main worship. Respecting god and destroying his creation is hypocrasy. CALL HIM ANY NAME, i doubt he cares (can't say for sure, but it seems so trivial to the almighty). Good luck sweetie.

There is nothing but perhaps a relative peace of mind. Whether you choose to believe in a god or not makes no difference. Assuming that someone's version of God(s) is correct does matter a lot, as I'm sure you already know well enough.

I think you have to be willing to accept that your personal experience can and should be parsed from the likelihood that God does exist and has an interest in you. One or even several bad relationships does not mean all relationships are bad. You might have to be vulnerable again and open to that risk.

When you’re ready, God’s waiting for you with open, loving arms. He’s your Father, your closed kin, your kinsman redeemer.

I suggest that you pray. Have a heart-to-heart talk with Him. Ask Him for the answers you seek. He'll answer if you're sincere.

Remember that God’s promises have that big word “if” attached to them. He never breaks his promises if you love and obey Him.

If you know you were in a Cult. That tells me that you never had a relationship with the True and Living God Jesus Christ. You need to begin a relationship with him, and let him help you through the process.
And stay away from the LDS church and the Jehovah Witnesses.
