Because they think that it's unnatural to like somebody of the same gender. They've been conditioned by society/church to think that way.

Alot of ignorant people dislike gays because they don't understand them and are made uncomfortable by the idea. Some of them hide behind religion as a justification for their own issues, even though the Bible has no strict "laws" against being gay, just passages that can be interpreted as such. I'm Catholic, but I have no such hang-ups because I was raised around actual homosexuals, not made up boogeymen.

Many of my good friends are gay and honestly, I don't really know what people's problems are with homosexuality except the immature "ew" factor of thinking about two women or two men together. Your friends need to grow up and get more exposure to the wider world and see that people in a loving relationship are not the freaks.

I say she's an idiot. I've never understood how people can judge other people solely on the basis of their sexual orientation. That's just silly to me. I bet she'd pitch a fit if someone said they dislike lesbians because it's nasty for two women to like each other.

People have a tendency to dislike things they don't understand. Not everyone feels that way about gays. As a matter of fact, I feel that things have been changing for the better for gay people and I hope it continues. I am not a gay person.

People feel scared or discomforted by anything that they think is "different"...I personally do not think that anything is different if you are gay. You are still a human being who has feelings, it just so happens that you like the same gender.... I have a couple of gay friends and my neighbors are also gay... There is nothing wrong with it...Everyone I know is really nice... People are also often scared with change...which is similar to different

The thought of a man sticking a finger inside another dude's corn monkey makes me want cry blood. Being gay is a sickness. Just like murderers, and other mass criminals.

I am not really religious, but some people that are hate or dislike gays because it is forbidden by the Bible. and not all people dislike gay people. maybe you should take your friends to meet the couple so they can actually get to know them as individuals instead of instantly judging them for their sexuality.

The only thing I can think of is pure ignorance. I have friends and family that are gay/lesbian. I love them just the same as my straight friends. I have talked about them to other friends and got the same response you did. When I asked them why they felt that way they started to quote (poorly I might add) the bible. I told them it is not our place to judge someone for their choices in who they love, and the true Christian thing to do (since they decided to use the bible) was love thy neighbor. Most people fear things that different from them or their beliefs.

Because people find it easier to down what they don't understand. Instead of putting themselves in the other persons shoes!! I am not Gay either, I am married with children, but I DO know that people can be ignorant and closed minded. If you don't agree w/ how people are living... where is it written to treat that person bad?... To dis-associate? and degrade?....NO WHERE!

Because it's wrong!

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. (NKJ, Leviticus 18:22)

If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. (NKJ, Leviticus 20:13)

If God had intended the human race to be fulfilled through both heterosexual and homosexual marriage, He would have designed our bodies to allow reproduction through both means and made both means of sexual intercourse healthy and natural. Homosexual anal intercourse carries a high risk of disease, this is recognized in Scripture where gay men are said to receive in their bodies the due penalty for their error (Romans 1:27).

When God created a partner for Adam He created Eve - not another Adam. This means that perfect partnership requires some level of difference as well as a level of similarity so great that Adam could cry out loudly, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh". Sexual intimacy between a man and a woman is the normal method of male/female bonding (emotionally and physically) because it corresponds to the design of our bodies and because it is the normal means by which offspring are created.

It is the gay lifestyle people disapprove of.

Children need a male parent and a female parent.

Fear has NOTHING TO DO WITH disapproval.

People have standards for behavior. There is approval if the others' behavior is in allignment with the beliefs. If behavior is not in allignment, then there is disapproval.

No fear involved at all.
