I work in a supermarket with a lot of young ladies who seem to like me. However, I'm old enough to be their dad. There aren't any single women my age at work, and I was just wondering what people might think if I dated some of these girls. I'm not some dirty old guy who's out for sex. In fact, I'm a 40+ year-old virgin..............There! I said it. Go ahead and laugh. So is it wrong for me to want to date young girls?

No it is not normal for a 47 year old male to want to date a 18 year old girl. The reason i say this is you are old enough to be this girls dad. Although you are not her dad, you are the mature adult in this situation. And of course it is normal to be attracted to a young beautiful woman. And no i am not laughing at your virginity, i comend you for asking this question.If there are no 30 sometihing women where you work. You are going to have to look somewhere else, like church, the gym, the park, the bank when you are doing business look around, smile at the next cute teller who looks 30. But don't date the girls on your job, because they are girls. And because you are a virgin makes you that much more attracted to them. You need to have a meaniful relationship with someone on your own level. I know you have heard the saying age is just a number, but that is only true when both parties are grown and have a little life under there belt. There to young, you are to vunerable at this point. And there are some young girls out there who will use and abuse you, so be careful. Hollywood may deem it normal for older guys to date girls but i don't. And you can do much better than a 18 year old anyway. Start going to work just to work with only work on your mind. And start getting out more and take a few chances, there are dozens of like 30 year old women who would love to date you. Good luck you can do it, just stop focusing on the 18 year olds, pretend you are there dad. And you won't look at them in a lustful nature. Again, good luck....

well i would say it sounds like you subconsciously feel that you did not live your youth to its fullest and now you are attracted you younger people who in a way could give you what you miss out on. Personally if an 18 year old likes you and you like her i see nothing wrong, my parents have something like a 16 year age gap and some family friends have a 20 year age gap that is a rather large age gap but what ever makes you happy i guess. It is not my place or anyone else's to judge you.

For one thing, what would you have in common with an 18 year old? If no older women work with you, consider going other places to meet women. I would not be happy if my daughter was 18 and dating a 47 year old man and I'm sure those girls parents wouldn't like it either.

Those girls are talking to you because you're "safe". They don't consider that you may have an interest in them so they are more open with you. Kind of like how they would be talking with their own dad.
There were a couple of obnoxious bachelors where I work (a few years back). They were out for sex. They went bar hopping after some young women. After about the 4th woman saying, "You remind me of my dad." (or "uncle" or even "grandpa") they gave up on chasing the younger set.

I don't think it is wrong, a lot of 47 year olds wish they could date younger girls.
What might be wrong would be for you to expect to have anything in common with them. The maturity level would be very dissimilar which might pose a problem for any kind of long-term relationship.
I guess it depends on what you are after. I still don't think it is wrong, just fruitless.

I don't think it's wrong. Actors always do it and get away with it, so why can't you? It's fine to be a 40 Year old virgin by the way, who gives a ****? life isn't all about sex anyway. Good luck man.

Women are always (especially young women) looking for a man (and in your case, an older man) to validate them. Annoying and a big turn-on I know, but unless you want to have to switch jobs, I suggest not going there at all. Take the compliment and just...NOT!
