It's like the browser keeps locking up. It doesn't seem stable. Why is that? How come firefox seems perfectly stable even if I have like 20 tabs open?

Firefox seems to handle things better. ( capacity, spyware, ect). Plus constant process run on diff webpages like adds which slows everything down, once again firefox can handle it better. Lately website have started making them more ff friendly so once again firefox can handle it better. a suggestion is to give more cache memory in options, it seemed to work for me.

i was going to say that maybe it is an issue of RAM, but if 20 tabs in FIREFOX doesn;t have a problem that is probably not it. That is, unless for some reason IE7 uses more memory per tab as compared to firefox.

IE7 sucks. Plain and simple.
Seriously, if you have been using Firefox all this time, why switch to IE7?
And seriously, what can you expect from a browser made by a corporation that has disgruntled former employees? It will only be a matter of time when hackers will be able to penetrate IE7. Stop using it, it will only mess you up.

Avant browser is the fastest than IE & i found it better than firefox

some sites in IE7 render very slow. so maybe it could be the sites that u have open.

dont use anything IE, since they are so standard, most viruses are written for them and hackers can get in easily. Firefox has better system handling, while IE probably has some sort of virus in it, and that plus the 8 tabs is just too much for it to handle

Wow, people still use IE? you're a braver man than I am. IE is very unstable and has its usual security holes. Be safe and stick with Firefox.
