No. I believe "soul" is in reference to parts of our brain that include personality, emotions, thoughts, etc. Many fail to realize that these things are natural.

The soul is the mind, intellect, character, will and emotions. I think all people have the above. If it is controlled by circumstances, then it is like any other animal. If it is controlled by a spirit within that is a reflection of truth or God or Love or what ever your discription of God is, then it is operating the way the Human soul was intended.....Not an athiest, but answered anyway. Don't believe that anyone likes to be lied to, so there really isn't an athiest, since God and Truth are the same thing....

No. The body has a brain which when functioning has a mind which is capable of having a conscious if the chemistry is right. Soul is something you have through experience and perhaps a bit of despair. A "soul" is something the ancient dreamed up to explain all of this.
