I understand the kids named the bear Mohammed? Aren't people named Mohammed too? I mean, I went to school with like 3 Mohammeds. I thought Islam was a very peaceful religion? Why do they want to kill the teacher?

Apologies if this has been asked 1,000x before. I am just shocked right now. I thought Islam was a very peaceful and fair religion.

The reason everyone is so mad is because Muslims believe it is disrespectful to create physical images of Mohammed. If you look up Islamic art pieces, you'll find absolutely no depictions of the prophet in question. And you're right, by the way; Islam IS a peaceful religion. The whole controversy is just putting fuel on the fire for a religious dispute between zealots that's been going on for centuries.

I think it's just the authorities getting mad about the teacher and the teddy bear.

Most people in Sudan probably couldn't give a toss. THey are too busy trying not to starve to death.

I think this is dreadful. The Sudanese people are going through extreme hardship right now, and this is just generating even more negative publicity for a country that needs help, not condemnation.

I hope that teacher is all right.

I am a muslim.
I cannot believe how people in Sudan incredibly stupid they are. I mean rock-hard stupids.
Dehydrated-rock-hard stupids. Stupids, so stupids it goes way beyond the stupid we know into a whole different dimension of stupids.
They are trans-stupid stupids. Meta-stupids.
Stupids collapsed on itself so far that even the neutrons have collapsed.
Stupids gotten so dense that no intellect can escape.
Singularity stupid. Blazing hot mid-day sun on Mercury stupids.
They emit more stupidity in one second than our entire
galaxy emits in a year.
Quasar stupids.
Nothing in our universe can really be this stupid. Perhaps this is some primordial fragment from the original big bang of stupidity.
Some pure essence of a stupids so uncontaminated by anything else as to be beyond
the laws of physics that we know.
I'm sorry. I can't go on. This is an epiphany of stupids for me.

They see it as a sign of disrespect to the prophet Muhammad(PBUH*). Don't let a few people in a country ruin the religion for you. Not everyone represents Islam like the Sudanese.

I think it's all because they don't have anything else going on in their lives. This event is kind of a highlight.
But it doesn't justify the teacher being reprimanded. Hope she's all right.

Real Islam is peaceful and Islamism is murderous and twisted

Surprise. What we have been told, and what is the truth are apparently two different things.
They claim violence is against the teachings in Islam, but they have ways to justify what they will.
There is NO denying what is happening now...all papers and news reports say and show the same thing happening.
