Ages 3 or 4. It depends on the child. I am a preschool teacher, and it seems that the children do better when they start at 3 years of age. I teach 4 year olds, so by the time they come to me they are ready. It really is all about social skills.

My son started preschool in September. He is 2 years, 9 months. He adores it. He goes 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. I found he needed more stimulation that I could give him at home, and with someone trained to teach young children.

He has learned so much, so quickly. He is writing, drawing shapes, singing his ABC's. It really is a great time to put them in to a social learning environment.

It can be up to the individual parent. Some children don't start preschool until after 3, as Kindergarten tends to start around age 4 or 5.

Some kids start preschool at age 4. Sometimes it depends on when their birthday falls during the year, especially once they register for kindergarten. If they start preschool at 4, kindergarten at 5, and so and then they'll likely graduate high school at 17 or 18 depending on what month they were born and providing that they pass all grades on time.

my youngest son will be 3 the day after christmas and he will be starting December 10. He was born premature and has needed physical therapy and speech therapy. The program he's in ends when they turn 3 so he will start preschool and continue getting therapy there. The classroom he's in is a special ed room but they also have normal functioning children there that start at 3. My older son went to the same room but started when he was 4. I could have started him when he was three but I was not aware that they worked with potty training there and he was not fully potty trained until 4. I would just contact the school you are planning on starting them in and see what qualifications need to be met first.

They start at the age of three. Preferably when they have been potty trained. Some preschools even take them in as young as 2 1/2. But in my opinion that is too young. They need that extra 6 months of one on one time. Three is perfect and it is such a great experience for kids and I recommend it to every parent. Pre-school is the new Kindergarten and its true.

Either 3 or 4. My brother started at 3. My Mom thought it would help with his speaking since he started so late. It worked. My cousin's son couldn't go until he was 4 because most preschools will not take a kid who is not potty trained. The rest of us never went to preschool. My cousin plans to have his daughter attend preschool, but not until 4. She goes to a large playgroup now and they prefer unstructured and leave the formal learning to kindergarten (well, that was one of my better ungrammatical sentences, don't you think?).

Children usually begin formal preschool at 4 years of age. However depending on the programs your school might have, there could be a classroom for children as early as 2.9 years of age.

theres alot of daycares and churches that offers preschool to children as early as 2 yrs old.but if you want your child to go to a real preschool like head start that doesn't come until they are 4 yrs old.my daughter had to wait until this past Aug to go to preschool because the public preschools which you don't have to pay to send your child to doesnt accept children under 4 yrs old.church and daycare preschools you have to pay for and most of them will take children young as 2 as long as they are potty trainned. My mother sent me to a church preschool when i was 2 yrs old and she had to pay for it but when she sent me to a public preschool (like head start) when i was 4 she didn't have to pay anything.so its really up to you.if you cant afford paying an arm and a leg just wait until your child is 4 if you can afford it i would check out some churches near you...i rather have a child going to a church preschool instead of a daycare preschool...know what i mean(i dont mean because of being regilous because i am not the regilous type but i do trust church preschool way more than daycare....lol)
