Can you take it off and leave it off or will it look stupid lol?

Yeah, you can take it off but then it looks like c+rap. Looks just like you lost something. If you don't have a tire cover (some came without) get one. They look much better with a cover.

I just had to sell my Jeep Liberty to get a mini van for all my kids!
You can take it off and leave it off but I think it looks better with the tire on it - more sporty! :)

it looks best on but you can take it off and the bracket that holds also with your lug nut wrench but it will leave you with 4 holes in your tailgate, but you can get plugs for it, i'd just leave it on and maybe get a cover

it looks better with it on there, because the big black metal bracket is still attached to the swing gate with 3 wheel studs sticking out of it.

leave it on , you can get a leather cover for it with a decal, try looking on ebay or do a yahoo search for it....
