YES! Some other structures besides SALPINGES (fallopian tubes) can be LIGATED.

>>Vasoligation - surgical ligation of vas deferens for sterilization purposes.
>>Vein Ligation - For example it is usually done in varicosed vein where large vein in the leg called the greater saphenous vein is surgically tied off.
>>Artery Ligation - various arteries can be ligated for different purposes.
>>Duct Ligation - some ducts are tied off to limit secretions for specific purposes. Example: the pancreatic duct or bile duct).
>>Any blood vessel can be ligated. Examples: blood vessels of MESENTERY, tumor-supplying blood vessels, testicular blood vessels,etc.

Ligation is not a term limited to the sapinges.

Ligation just means to tie off...could be fallopian tubes, blood vessels, etc.
