Just looking for thoughts here. I won't make decisions based solely on answers.
I LOVE my job. I work, in various capacities, for a large tax and financial services company. I do taxes, manage an office, and work with every new student and first-year employee for a 17 office district. I frequently work 'off the clock' answering tax questions (both in real life and online in Y!A), scheduling interviews, tutoring students, etc. But I do it with a happy heart, knowing I am helping someone. I am very dedicated to the company I work for as well. I feel that I am very blessed to enjoy going to work (almost) every day.
The problem? I am so involved with my job that I can't find time to study my chosen spiritual path as much as I would like. Cutting back my hours and not working at home seems like the easy answer, but it's very hard since I care so much about the work. The question is - should I quit my job and find one that I'm not passionate about, or do you see some other compromise?

Chessmaster - I was married, and am now divorced with two kids. My daughter's first kindergarten picture was a big, green Block (as in H&R), with all three of us (me and the kids) in front of it. But my work is OK with the kids - I have a lot of support and a great situation as far as child care.

Consider making work your spiritual journey. Your life IS your spiritual path, take time out to study spirituality when you get stuck. Everything we do has a spiritual aspect. I think it was yoda who said 'your focus determines your reality'. If your focus is spiritual then your reality will be spiritual. Don't think about your daily activities as separate from your spiritual path. Every moment is your Way unfolding, rather than viewing work as an obstacle, take it as an opportunity to grow mentally, physically, and spiritually.
And never never never leave a job you love, you don't realize what a gift that is.
With Love,
Shane

Chances are that if you quit you probably might not find another job you love as much that will meet your requirments. You really love this job, so quitting is not the answer. You need to come up with a way to budget your time and speak to your manager(if you have one) and tell him about how youmeet thier requirments and how you work hard, and that they should do the smae for you. You have to cut back a little on your job, because if your religion is important, you need to make room for both. Godd luck!

I had a similar project, and have been given requested a similar question. I prefaced my answer with "i comprehend the previous rule is which you at the instant are not meant to declare something damaging approximately your previous agency, besides the undeniable fact that" then defined my project. Mine replaced right into a micro-handling boss regarded desperate to sabotage each thing I did. She'd supply me an project, then whilst i began out it would declare she never informed me to do it. on your case, you would be able to desire to stress the adversarial artwork atmosphere (the profanity, etc.) and the undeniable fact that your boss no longer basically did no longer practice you, yet reprimanded you once you confirmed initiative and tried to get education on your guy or woman. by using the way, I have been given the activity I gave that answer to, & am nonetheless here after 4 years! good success!

You are fortunate to have a job you enjoy (most people don't) ... and I admire you for wanting to seek spiritual growth ( I have to say I hope you are Christian).
Decide that is what you want and say no to a few of the demands that take your needed time to cover work related things.
God wants you to help others but also wants you to grow in him - you seem to understand that. And the more you grow in him the more you will benefit others.

I don't think you would be very happy if you found a job that you didn't like. I doubt you could remain spiritual if you are in an unhappy situation. The compromise is with yourself. As said somewhere, God helps those who help themselves.pp

You can keep your job - you just need to set reasonable boundaries and separate your work life from your home life.
This is something that everyone who is passionate about their work has to deal with -- you love it so you do it even off-work-- but that is going to lead to burn out, and then you won't love it.
You need to create a balance -- you're already longing for it, evidenced by this question.

I don't think you should quit.
It is so rare to find a career that you truly enjoy and take pleasure from.
Hopefully you can find a way to balance both, if you it is really important to you explore this spiritual path, so that you can get a fulfilling experience in both areas of your life.
Hope this helps!

Pray.
Petition the Creator to help you decide on the correct path. It appears that you are aware of your circumstances, so seeking an alternative that is viable to you heart, to your soul could only come from communion with the Most High.

No !!!!!! As long as your not married yet with a family....why not be passionate about you work....not enough people are...most people hate their jobs, so be happy while you can, you'll be married soon enough and that will be the time to either cut back or quit !!!!!!!!!
