Why are so many atheists on here sounding so angry and defensive?

Question

I mean, just take a minute and read the way many of us Christians shower them with love and understanding, how we call them to grow by being shining examples of the love and patience of Jesus for all people?

Is it possible to read a few questions or answers from a couple of fundies and see just how insane it is for atheists to feel a little bit ticked off and on the defensive?

And thank God there are absolutely NO Christians who ever get defensive and petty on here, right?

And yes, I'm using IRONY to ask a perfectly valid question, so there is no need to lean on the report button.

Dude, you are going to get so many thumbs downs and serious answers from the Humorless Society.

I'm 100% Christian, but I'm insulted all the time by the answers, questions and insinuations of superiority from many fundamentalists here.

I have no doubt my atheist brothers are too.

None of us is perfect. Everyone gets defensive once in a while.
My argument is: if you are really sure of your belief system, why should questions make you angry?
Personally, I am comfortable with my Pantheistic/Pagan view point. I have done the research.
You won't be defensive if you really know what you are talking about and have research things instead of just spouting verses you think you know.
On the other side of the fence, just because you are an Atheist doesn't give you the right to be nasty. Can't you give a reasonable answer?
I've seen answers and questions from angry people on all sides of the religious sphere. What happened to plain old good manners?

I agree with Jon M, but there are really a few atheists who do nothing but mock us and ask disingenuous questions just to try to be mean, lol.

I think some of them do it to "get back" at us for something that someone else did that made them mad at Christians.

Yes ive thought that. So many athiests in the religion and spiritualty sub-group...maybe God is calling to them by drawing them to this forum - they just won't admit it.

Or...they do believe in God its just that the're peed off that God didnt make them prettier/smarter/richer etc so they spend their days attacking those who do believe.
