we've been thinking about those muzzy tapes but were'nt sure on how well they would work.

The best way o teach a child languages is to communicate in both languages every day, and start as soon as possible. It's a continual thing, that needs to be kept up, but children have a huge adaptaion for languages, and pick them up quickly.

I know a friend who has a French mother and a Maltese father. In Malta all speak English, the child grew up speaking both languages very good. It's important to start learning when very young, cause it's actually easier for the child.

Have on parent speak English to him and the other French. This keeps it clear that they are different adn not interchangeable in normal conversation. I have a dear friend who is German, and naturally fluent in it, they speak German at home and English outside the home-unless of course it is somethign they don;t want shared lol

Children are language-learning machines. There is no need to worry about your child being confused. Children in many locations in the world grow up being able to use two languages and it is completely normal for them. Children will learn whatever languages they are exposed to in their environment.

have mommy speak french all the time while dad speak English all the time.
