Because the Doctrine of Christ calls for dying to our self and for suffering in this world. The world is preaching pleasure and comfort and self indulgence. The more one belongs to the world and loves the world, the harder it will be to believe in Christ.
God bless you

If you are taught incorrectly...
If you experience insincere individuals representing their faith...
If the tenets of that religion are presented to you in conflicting arenas of thought...
If there has been no personal 'epiphany' of sorts connecting you with that religion's deity...
there will be a struggle where the logical mind is at war with the creative side.... wondering at every second of the day, whether or not, it is on the right 'path', why am I here?, when will I ever find joy, peace and happiness.
Some people never do. Some people do at the end of their existence. Some know, as soon as they can walk and talk, what it will take to bring them fulfillment.
Sometimes overwhelming evidence is not the answer, even though logic would dictate it.
Sometimes it would be easier to go with the crowd, with the latest fad rather than be cast out as a loner.
The only truth, for any one person, is on the personal level. The kind of level that involves core values, fiber of the being, that kind of stuff.
When you can passionately, sincerely, faithly present your case for Christianity in an intelligent manner, you will get attention, turn a lot of heads.
What will make you different than all the rest is how you treat this marvelous, intelligent group of people once you get their attention.

Why you ask? why do you believe? it is likely that your parents taught you your beliefs, that you should never sin, go to church, and one day, marry and propagate the next generation of god fearing youth so the process can begin anew. I find it hard to believe in a book that is thousands of years old and has been translated so many times that it has been adapted by those who want you to believe. The reason why you still hold your faith is because you either haven't read the bible, didn't understand it, or you are one of those people who believes that some things in the bible are only figurative. The god of the Old Testament is a jealous control freak. He is a petty, unjust, vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser. The a Homophobic, racist, genocidal, fanatical megalomaniac. Do you have any idea how many people god kills in the bible? even if you exclude revelation it is still allot. let me be honest with you. If your Christan God judges you on everything he mentioned being wrong in the bible you are most likely going to hell with me.

well it is based on what delusional old men wrote 500 years after the death of their supposed savior. How could they possibly know what this Jesus was like if they had never even seen him. And don't say some Sky Fairy told them what to write.
In today's world people who claim to speak to some Supreme Being are institutionalized.
It is so hard to believe in your silly a55 cult because intelligent people don't need to believe in anything. They know things because facts are presented to them.
It is time for you and all other xtians to accept the fact that you're completely stupid and need much more schooling.
Evolution is happening right in front of the world when most intelligent people choose not to have kids or just to have one. And stupid people have so many kids, that have the time the women don't know they are pregnant. This will in turn increase the number of stupid people and decrease the number of intelligent people. The world is getting more and more dumb.

Read www.skepticsannotatedbible.com and see why some of us have a hard time taking the bible seriously.
Also, Christianity is very big on the ideas of "Original Sin" and "Salvation through Faith". Consider the illogic and the immorality of condemning unborn people to "Original Sin". Then consider the illogic and immorality of making another person suffer and die to pay for the sins of other people. Then consider the illogic and immorality of requiring people to believe in and love the person who was made to suffer so that they too can be saved. Finally, consider the horrific immorality of the idea of allowing people to be sent to Hell for simply not believing in the above mentioned sufferer.
That's most of it, I guess ...

It is all stolen stories and lies. Its so obvious, open your eyes and see the truth.Have you ever questioned it and thought on your own?I was six when I first learned about it and something told me it was lies.I wanted to believe,I really did,I even tried fooling myself into believing in him.I felt no peace no protection, nothing. But I knew there was a god and I kept searching and its acrually there are gods and not just one but many.Thats the short version of why I don't.

Why is it so hard for you to believe that Christianity is not the only way? Spirituality is not a "one size fits all". Nothing you can say will prove otherwise to me. But if you are happy with your religion, then I am happy for you. :)

God had diaper rash?
God needed to kill a substitute victim instead of bring justice. Someone else had to die because I did something wrong?
Jesus was the first to be raised from the dead, or was that Lazarus?
Mary was the first at the tomb, or was it Peter?

the concept of trinity is very difficult to grasp, so does the concept of Jesus dying for our sin( it is still our own sin, not his).
One and the only Divine Omnipotent Creator is very much easy to follow ( see it like this, how can a ship sail smoothly with more than 1 captain).

One reason is many fundamentalists preach a false god that reflects their own political agendas instead of the true God Jesus came to talk about.
But these fundamentalists are newsworthy: they are always in the press touting themselves as the only Christians around.
There are millions of non-fundamentalist Christians who try to live quiet lives of love the way Jesus taught. But they don't get the same press, so when people see the silly little sock-puppet god that Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson and other radical conservatives preach, they intuit -- rightly -- that it is a false god.
That they preach this false god in the name of Christianity only confuses the matter more and makes Christianity in general hard to believe for many people who confuse fundamentalism with true Christianity.
