No...it is the nemesis of false faith.

You know, when I was about three I had done something. My parents asked me who had done this, I answered 'it did it itself' -- they didn't believe me. I wonder why?

Is that critical thought? If it is then how come that by adding a few billions of years on this type of thinking the premise is changed?

All of a sudden, that which the combined technology and expertise of our most skilled and intelligent individuals cannot make -- this has created itself! That evolution because of an animal needing an eye -- somehow understands the need, somehow can create this without intelligence. Up pops the design better than anything we can create!

And then the absolutely brainless idea that the beneficial mutations are retained. What makes them retained? What intelligence stands behind there and retains them?

Critical thought is the foundation of faith and the nemesis of evolution and atheism.

The only reason that the insistence on atheism and evolution exist is that the ones who demand it do not want to feel responsibility in regard to their maker.

I was going to suggest that critical thought and faith are mutually exclusive. Even the rare "bi-polar" individual who can switch back and forth between tight logic and blind faith (eg., a scientist who is a devout Christian.) cannot do both at the same time. I think of reason and faith as logical complements. One and zero. Male and female. ...opposite extremes of the same continuum. Both have value, given their proper context.

Nope - If you examine your life critically and with an open mind, you have to come to the conclusion that there is a God and He is good. Only the closed minded "scientists" refuse to see God. They won't even consider the possibility, so they have to make up ridiculous theories to explain away the God holes in their research.

Faith is not a blind belief in something that cannot be proved as many people seem to think. Faith is action based on your knowledge of God.

Yes, mysticism is the antithesis of reason. When you blank your mind with religion and the meaningless Zen Koan that is faith, you cease being a human being with a fully functional reasoning mind, and instead become some sort of slave. Either that or you become criminal, closer to an animal than human. Some people wake up from this self-destruction (if you're thwarting your humanity you're killing yourself), but many live their lives awash in a self-deluded state of confusion.

No!! Faith is by DEFINITION independent of critical thought. Faith = belief in something without proof.

On the contrary!
Critical thought is a sign of the Holy Spirit.

Critical thoughts, doubts, and sincere inquiry are from God, who inspires All Knowledge and Wisdom.

Remember Knowledge + Love = Wisdom - a Gift of the Holy Spirit

For my work, I have to practice critical thinking; I feel that in NO way are the two exclusive.

no..the problem is that some people don't critically think...Descartes said [paraphrased].."all possibilities must be explored..then elimanated one at a time while conclusive evidence convicts or excuses....Any possibilities tangible or intangible not proven false MUST remain a possibility..."

No. Critical thought allows us to examine both sides and choose which is best.
