I'm going to be baking some pies for the holidays and am looking for premium grade nuts. What are some good brands to look out for or good places in the Los Angeles County where I can acquire some? Examples: Harry & David's, Gelsons Market, Whole Foods Market, Surfas Restaurant Supply, Williams & Sonoma, or Sur La Table?

Raid the bulk bins at Whole Foods. You can even sneak in a sample to make sure you approve first. :)
