WHAT SAY YOU ALL? Ask the atheist physicist, "Why the Laws of Physics are what they are?" What answer would?"
you expect?
The answers may vary from "that's not a scientific question" to "nobody knows"
The favorite answers from a godless scientist is "There is no reason they are what they are - they just are."
Can you believes it?
Would you expect such a no-brainer answers from so called the elites of the intellectual world?
The idea that the laws of Physics (rather the Law of God established by Himself in His Universe) exist without reason is deeply anti-rational.

So far, all answers given are less than intelligent. If only they can see themselves acting like the fools they are!

I can see that the only intelligent answers are from the truth-seekers and not the godless ones. My observation !

Bajingo.., God says, Let there be... and Universe is still expanding in the same density and it is not until God bring it to a stop and creates a New one. Can you explained why it is so contrary to you "Big Bang!" theory ?
If God were to stop sustaining and upholding the Universe as His Word says, All of creation will just evaporate in an instant. Can you comprehend that?

yutsnark,., Yes we can but those who knows the answer can't tell it to you for it will violates the principle of finding God Grace and Truth for yourself.
If I can tell you the Way or show you the Truth ; you wouldn't believes it. You have to search, find it, see and discovered God for yourself
I cannot do the "eating" nor "believing"for you (like so many religious Christianity are doing these days) nor the "seeing" for you. That is why it is a personal journey to walk with God individually and corporately.
I can only lead you to the "Door" - you must enter in yourself !
Do you understand what I just says?

William B, A food for your thought - The Word of God did not says in Gen 1:1-2 "In the beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned and) created the heavens and the earth.
The Earth was without form and any empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters.
God did not says it is one human known 24 hours day when that event happened did He?
It is only in the 3rd verse of Genesis Chapter One , that He created Light and there was Light.
Still He did not mentioned that it was one human known 24 hours day, did He?
Gen1:4 And God say that the Light was good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it; and God separated the light from the darkness (which must be obviously bad in contrast to the Light- mine)
Gen. 1:5 (It is only here that).. God called the light Day and the darkness He call Night. And there was evening and here was morning , one day
Ponder on that-don't read men's idea into His Word, OK ?

I did not read a single answer to your question so I can't say for all. I will say for me. I was a nuclear physicist and a theoretical mathematician. I was and am extremely religious in my beliefs. I see no conflicts between them. Just because it is not in the Bible does not mean it does harm. What I learned in Physics and Mathematics is there are more questions then answers. I see the great strides man has made since the Bible was written. Look at medicine, housing, electricity, natural gas, the use of metals, plastic, flying, space travel, the computer, the Internet, television, radio, the telephone, subways, roads, shoes, and everything else. These items had to do with the laws of Science, God gave us free will, therefore God had nothing to do with any of those and other inventions.
How can you explain the six days it took to make the earth and all its environment? Who says the Bible day was 24 hours, why could it not have been 34 billion hours or more. The Bible does not explain that. How did Methuselah live that long? When now the oldest man has lived is maybe 125 years. Your point is mute. Believe what you want but it does not make it right.

I don't look for the 'reason' behind laws of physics as I don't even know if there is one, or if it is knowable. I don't know if there isn't a metaverse out there pooping out little galaxies and universes at a rate. I don't know if everything hasn't always existed, or whether or no tthere are othe rlaws of physics that mirror the ones in our Universe, or are different altogether, where time goes in a helical motion or is inverted or standstill.
I would never be so egotistical or unimaginative to think that it was made for me by an invisible man in the sky with a mind like a Middle Eastern patriarch from 2000 years back.
The fool is the one that admires the King's new clothes...
What fool invents a King because he thinks the Universe is his castle?

Perhaps you misread the answer given by the godless scientist. The laws of Physics are discovered and codified by Man, but the reason should be self-evident, and "they just are" is a valid phrasing of this reason. The reason is that they are Man's interpretation of his understanding of how the Universe holds itself together and functions as it does. Does there have to be another reason? Are you just not satisfied with the obvious (and rational) one? If you need another reason, you may be falling prey to the need to be embroiled in a mythic struggle, where the mundane everyday (and consistent as far as Man has gotten) laws of Physics function for some grand and anthropic philosophical end that ties up the whole of existence in a neat allegory. Maybe this is just a remnant of the whole "Earth-centered" mindset, only it is Man-centered.

The answers may vary from "God has always existed" to "You can't question God."
The favorite answers from a godless scientist is "You can't prove that God was Created - you just need to have faith."

IMHO, the question of "beginnings" is unanswerable, whether one asks a scientist or a clergyman. You're right that a physicist cannot tell you why the laws of physics are the way they are. The clergyman may say, "G-d made them that way." If you ask why G-d chose to do so, he may say, "G-d works in mysterious ways." If you ask how G-d got there in the first place, he will respond, "G-d was always there, and always will be." Such responses fail to satisfy my curiosity. How about you?
It's unfair to conclude that either religion or science is lacking. Rather, there are limits to what humans can understand.

My friend, have you not heard "they that have ears let them listen". So when one sees the evidence that the universe is so beautiful and perfect that it must have been created by a Perfect Creator, that one can open their eyes and see and their ears and hear, or close them. Human words will not convince those who have closed their eyes to open them. Stay strong in faith and pray brother.
So what say I? I say God bless you for your faith. Pray, pray, pray and fast. The time will come when all will understand all the mysteries which have been hidden from the wise since the beginning of time.
God bless you

So are you telling me when an apple falls down to the floor, or a ball rolling down the street was because of god?
Both you an I know that when an apple fall, it falls on it's own due to external forces (gravity). What you're telling me is that god made that apple fall down.
If you push a ball down a hill, who made it role all the way and excel with force? you? or did god make that happen?

No, they didnt fool themselves. They have allowed the devil to fool them, but it is a choice. ALl have the same equal opportunity to study and pray and know about GOD. If one wont do that, they cant blame God for how they end up, but then its too late. God says for us to never calla any man a fool, but He tells us what He considers a FOOL. IT is someone who wont believe and turn to Jesus, and then obey as we are commanded to obey> Its all precious choice.
