Winter is here where I live, in Minnesota.
I'm having a very difficult time deciding what way to drive to work tonight. After last night I am not sure anymore.. My options are
A)The interstate. It gets plowed faster and you can see the road better, BUT with people passing you at 70+ mph (mostly the truckers) it causes white-out conditions. You also can't turn back until the next exit, and which for me is closer to work then home. I can just get off one interstate onto another, take a first exit and I'm at work.
Or
B)The back roads. Don't get plowed as much so seeing the road is a bit hard, but there is less traffic so there isn't white out conditons (in most cases), and if I think it's too bad I can turn around and go home whenever. But I'll also have to drive through town, and cops there seem to love pulling me over even if I'm not doing anything wrong.

Moving isn't exactly an option right now, although I have wanted to my entire life.

So, if I do take option A what do I do if it's completely white out? After yesterday, I found that slowing down helped some but then people passed me more making the problem worse..and making me nearly crap my pants while driving! lol.

I would stick with option a its faster, has a higher priority of being plowed. The thing that sucks about the back roads is if you get stuck in the snow good luck getting out especially if it isn't plowed and if your in a car instead of a suv, or truck with 4x4, and the cops decide to pull you over for some odd reason that's bull. Good Luck whatever route you decide.

I suffered with that same problem when I lived in Minnesota. After 15 years, I moved to NC. I think the freeways are better because they are plowed, but you're right about the white outs. All in all, it's a big pain in the butt.

I used to live in PA. I would prefer interstate over any road. Interstate is plowed first, and kept open.
Now I live in San Francisco. Not much in the snow department.

the possibility of hitting snow and any genuine snow at it fairly is incredibly slender in early Nov. of path, it might desire to take place. SoCal had a terrible rain final Wed, who might have concept!!! according to climate exciting data= Connecticut gets it first snow many times around the twelfth. while you're leaving on the 1st, you would be unpacked by using the twelfth. needed Mass gets a pair of million.5" of snow in November, doubt which will take place to be on the days you're making use of. The east coast terrain isn't basically like the west coast. West Coast has Sierra Nevada's accompanied by using the the Utah Mtns, after which you hit the Rockies. The east coast is unlike that. there is not any important mountain levels. At I-40 take I-eighty one North, then despite you will desire to to pass into your specific area. I-eighty one does not fairly have any mountains that I bear in mind.

I don't know your state but the clean plowed roads are the best. I didn't get to your other question in time. I had to work this weekend.

I was a truck driver, yes a lady trucker, 13 speed gear jammin' babe, I digress, my suggestion to you is the interstate.
Stay in the right lane keep your speed at a a reasonable rate for the weather and leave for work early so you don't feel rushed.
God Bless and keep in between the lines.
