I feel that Honesty is more important. I think that i ought to be able to hear what people really think about me rather than what they think I want to hear. No, my priority has not changed as I have gotten older, and I bet thet Honesty will always be higher in my book rather than cordiality. I's rather someone was a complete jerk, but honest, then someone who only cared about being cordial. (if they are honest AND coordial, that is an added bonus, but I would always go for honesty first.)

Honesty even the most slickest con artist can be cordial and friendly to get what they want. The Bible says in Proverbs that an honest answer is like a kiss on the lips. Honesty is the best policy:)

Honesty means being truthful with God, self, and others.
Cordiality means doing things with a good intent in your heart.
I like being truthful - honesty better because it is more wonderful to have honesty than the intent to do things from the heart because the heart can have rotten intentions right?

Generally speaking, I find honesty more important. It gets me into trouble. People sometimes think I'm being rude, but I don't like lying just to save someone's feelings (although I do value knowing when to just say nothing at all) and I don't expect anyone to lie to save my feelings. If something is wrong, the only way of fixing it is to address it.

Why does it have to be either or? Why not BOTH? It is possible to be honest in a cordial manner. I believe BOTH ar important in forming and developing relationships with those around us.

Circumstance has everything to do with it.
We should all be honest. But, there is a time and a place to bring up certain matters.
You wouldn't announce out loud that your friend has a bugar hanging out of his nose at a party. But, you might take him aside and let him know descretely. Honsesty WITH cordiality .
