get him checked out and follow the docs orders also have him go on a low sodium diet, which may be hard for him if he eats a lot of salt, i have been on a low sodium diet for over 20 years and it does get hard at times( i love potato chips lol) but it will help, try mrs. dash seasonings they taste really good and can be used on quite a few dishes.

Call the doctor just in case.
Have them come to your house or drive him there. Hope it turns out ok.
